Hi Everyone,
This is Jonny from Warner Drive , letting you all know that this site is your Backstage Pass into everything "Warner Drive".This site will be dedicated to new music (mostly acoustic) from Warner Drive as well as behind the scenes video and commentary. We'll mostly be using this site to post new ideas for songs, demos, melodies, lyrics, etc... We'll also try to get some videos from the road and off stage antics of WD on here for you guys to see as well.
We hope our most loyal and dedicated fans will come visit this site to preview our new ideas and give us comments and suggestions on what they like or don't like so that when we put out a new record, we will be putting out the material that you all love the most.
Most demos will be posted in the player with lyrics as well. Keep in mind that these are simply "Demos"... Lyrics are not complete, The vocals are "rough" (meaning that it was a one time vocal pass), the guitar playing is also "rough"... You're hearing the songs in the most broken down, simplest way possible. This is your backstage pass to our music!
This is how a song works it's way into our live sets and cds... First, when I write a song, I almost always write it on acoustic guitar... that goes for our hardest, fastest songs, as well as our slower more mellow songs. I usually work those songs up on acoustic guitar and now, you guys are going to hear those versions of the songs on this site. Second, after I have a good idea for a basic song structure, melodies, lyrics, etc, the guys step in and put their own flare on the song. Pete writes a catchy bass line, Chris rips some lead guitars, and Matt figures out a solid grove for the song to give it the right kind of rhythmic movement. Third, from there, we rehearse the song a few times at full volume and we see how it works into our set and how well it "fits" our band. Not every song is right for Warner Drive, even if we think it's a really good and catchy tune, it won't always necessarily "fit" our style.But the great thing about this site, is that you guys are going to hear it all, whether it "fits" or not... and we'd really appreciate your comments. After all, we do what we do....... for YOU!
