About Me

Nick Knirk is a reliable, versatile, and experienced guitarist in the D/FW area. Armed with an ability to perform a wide range of styles, he finds comfort in many different musical settings from solo acoustic shows to 8-piece wedding band gigs. He has performed with countless bands/artists including Waking Norman www.wakingnorman.com, Bill Tillman Band www.billtillman.com, Random Axis Band www.randomaxisband.com, Gene Glover of the Roof Raisers www.geneglovermusic.com, Becca Dalrymple www.beccad.com, and Icehouse. Nick also enjoys performing at church. Most Sunday mornings he can be found in the praise and worship band at Dallas Bible Church. After earning a B.M. in Jazz Studies (Guitar Performance) from University of North Texas world-renowned music program in 1998, Nick was contracted as an independent guitar instructor by Brook Mays Music. He has been there ever since. Before teaching at Brook Mays, he taught at Music Mart in Garland, TX, Arlington Heights Music Academy in Arlington, TX, and Shreveport Music Co. in Shreveport, LA. "I am a good sight reader and an even better music transcriber. I learn songs fast. I sing lead and backup if needed. I do not have drug or alcohol problems. I have all of my own pro gear.
