I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a musician, music teacher, and author in Dallas, Texas. I have played in and around Dallas for many years and I have taught guitar, bass, banjo, piano, and sitar in Dallas for thirty-five years. I am currently teaching guitar, piano, bass and banjo at Mike Ellis Music Instruction in Dallas, TX, 469-855-6865. New students are always welcome. NEW!! I've opened my new teaching location, Mike Ellis Music Instruction, at 9450 Skillman, Suite 103, Dallas TX 75243. It's a great little studio space with a comfortable waiting area for parents or friends, a drink machine, restrooms, and a view of the student and teacher. Sign up today and learn guitar, piano, bass, and banjo!
Click the picture to visit my page. You can hear a CD by my son, John, and me at www.michaelandjohnellis.com , or listen to four of the songs at myspace.com/michaelandjohnellismusic .
Also, you can learn thousands of piano chords at www.knowchords.com and learn thousands of guitar chords at www.knowguitarchords.com . These methods took years to develop, cutting out the fluff and unnecessary info, and teaching what chord titles mean without note reading or months or years of music experience. You'll find that both methods are the fastest and easiest ways to learn chords anywhere on the planet. Click the links and try them out.I have three wonderful children and a very lovely wife and a house in Lake Highlands in Dallas.
It's great to be on myspace.com and I welcome all friends and visitors.

My Interests

My interests are all music-based. I love teaching others and I love making music. Nuff said.

I'd like to meet:

Paul McCartney

Music:

The greatest bands in the world are my favorites, starting with the Beatles, going on to the Rolling Stones (just try to argue with their success and longevity), followed by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Queen, Bo Diddly, John Mayall, Taj Mahall, Freddie King, B.B. King, and a whole list of others. Mainly I like music and musicians with variety. Take a listen to the CD my son and I did. There's everything from rock, to ballads, to country... variety! And last but rapidly becoming FIRST on my list is the band CHANT!

Movies:

Hook, The Santa Clause, Tombstone, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Dr. Strangelove, ALL James Bond movies with Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan (the others suck!), The Unforgiven, Boondock Saints, Scarface (Al Pacino version), and many others.

Television:

My Name is Earl, Boston Legal, ALL the original Star Trek episodes, 24, and the old classic series shows, with the exception of I Love Lucy (I HATE it!).

Books:

Stranger in a Strange Land, The Jungle Book.

Heroes:

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, George Martin, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Rait, and many more... all music-related.
