My Interests

I pretty much live the life of a very busy single mom - everything revolves around my daughter Jordi and my love, Danny. In my down time and when she's at Daddy's, I read when I can stay awake, I love movies, I'm hung up on a few TV shows, and I scrapbook. I love to play World of Warcraft and kill shit. I have great friends but too little time so we keep up on the email and try to have monthly meetings that we have to plan way in advance - it's sad. :( But this is life. And when we're together, we make up for it - DON'T WE GIRLS?! Here are a few of my girlfriends....

I'd like to meet:

Like if I could meet anyone that ever lived? The standards I think - the great-grandparents I didn't meet or don't remember, Jesus (and I know one day I will meet him), hmmm.... actually, I'd like to have met the disciples too... could you imagine talking to Judas?? I'd like to have hung out with my Gram when she was really young, like in her teens. That would have been cool. Oh, I know - Helen Keller. She fascinates me. *** "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." Helen Keller *** okay, yeah... she was amazing. People that are alive today though - I'd like to meet Dawn. She is down there in my friends section but we've never met. Otherwise, I'm not really interested in too many peeps like celebrities. I think they're fun to read about in the trash mags, but do I want to meet them??? no. Well, maybe Johnny Depp, but that would just be too humiliating because I'd just sit and stutter and drool. Real impressive. :)

Music:

Hrm, well... I listen to Christian rock like Benjamin Gate, Falling Up, Jeremy Camp, Third Day, Inhabited, and the like... I still enjoy The Cure, Bauhaus/Peter Murphy, Siouxsie, Sisters, 242, DCD, KMFDM, NIN, KDC, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Tool/Perfect Circle/Maynard in general(except a few songs), etc... then I can get into my even older favorites like KROQ of the 80's and my period of grunge-love (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc). Yeah, a bit eclectic - that's me. :)

Movies:

Sooo many - from the 80's (all good things came from the 80's) there was Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Better Off Dead, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller, John Hughes anthology here. Recently I've become addicted to Napolean Dynamite and can quote him for whatever inane reason and find myself in tithers. To just blather off a bunch of titles I see in my DVD collection: Point of No Return, Braveheart, Tombstone, Best Laid Plans, Joe Dirt, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Shallow Hal, anything with Johnny Depp, Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Notebook (I know!), Gladiator, The Patriot, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Indy Jones x3, blah blah blah

Television:

I am a sucker for certain reality shows and I have anxiety attacks if I'm not home on Sunday for my Dirty Housewives, and Thursday for Gray's Anatomy. I try not to get sucked into too much TV.

Books:

Okay, if you know who Nora Roberts is you might know her books In Death, written under the name JD Robb. Oh muh gosh. Love them love them love them. Also just finished the 7-book series of Narnia (rock on, CS Lewis). Okay, and I love Harry Potter. I started it to see if my daughter was allowed to read it, and I just have to say that those are some of the best books for kids - I don't care what anyone says. I'll debate it anytime. Bring it. Some of my favorite books have been Prince Ombra, The Talisman (pt1) and Black House (pt2) by S. King and P. Straub, Traveling Light by Max Lucado, Bridget Jones just cracks me up, as does Stephanie Plum's books by Janet Evanovich, and just about anything by Clive Barker but my faves are Imajica and Weaveworld. Check them out.

Heroes:

My mother and my grandmothers - because they define strength, and they don't even know it. My dad, because he was born of a special fiber and it's woven through me despite the fact we don't share genetics. My daughter, because she has the biggest heart full of love for any and all things. And not by any means last, my Daniel - because he doesn't give up, he continues to love me through the worst, and he really wants to be a better man for me and our family. I will always love you Boo - mchwa

My Blog

Jordibug

So ya'll know I've been out of touch a bit.  Well, I didn't even put the most recent fun-filled event in the bulletin - Jordi came home Monday with pinkeye and then somehow dislocated her kneecap...
