After a major life changing month of May, I went from being a Master's violin student at Appalachian State University to being an Adjunct Instructor here at the University. For those of you who don't know where Boone is, it is in the north-western corner of North Carolina in the Appalachian Mountains about two hours north of Ashville. I teach in the music(string)education department and help with the overflow of applied violin and viola students. Its a great job! I love it. I also teach a traditional-Suzuki blend of pedagogy to students ranging from 3 1/2 to 26 years of age at the ASU Community Music School and the Harper School of Performing Arts in Lenoir, NC. I stay pretty busy. My goal is to eventually go to get a doctorate in either conducting or music education. I haven't figured that one out yet.
