About Me

ABOUT MIND APART
This is a temporary (and better) bio for Mind Apart, which I've taken the liberty to write since webmaster Dave wrote the last one. I'd be surprised if someone actually read this shit anyway. We play metal and such. Pretty much on the melodic side, cause I find a lot of bands that "just make noise nowadays because they don't know what they're doing" sound a lot like many other bands that "just make noise because they don't know what they're doing." Sure, I have mad respect for bands that manage to kick ass off playing a bunch of heavy chords, but sadly too many kids in hardcore bands these days don't know how to move their fingers to frets on strings other than the bottom one. Which is why I try to get as much melody into songs as I can without overwhelming the ear. I'm sure my brother feels the same way. As a vocalist I was pretty much forced to take up singing a few years ago when we started off, because after a few people came in for some pretty dreadful auditions, I realized that Durham is king when it comes to hardcore kids who think they can scream (though the select few that can do it properly are damn good). I guess where I'm getting at is that if you don't like my vocals, don't complain because I've never claimed to be a real singer. I'm just a "temporary vocalist" until the time when our band is big enough to dupe Bruce Dickinson or Ozzy Osbourne into singing for us. At this point you're probably wondering what other members there are in the band. Dave plays drums, and he's better than me so don't you forget that. He's the other half of the creativity when it comes to songwriting. So next time you listen to a song, remember that half the notes played by the guitars or bass are Dave's (along with our Fender Stratocaster's) musical lovechildren. Dave likes to sit at the computer playing Hobowars, Hobowars 2 and Universe Wars, and he occasionally moves to eat or play drums. There's only one word I can use to describe such a personality: uninhibited. He's unrestrained to do what the fuck he wants. Marcus plays bass. I don't actually know what he likes to do or even if he actually does those things. To be honest, he's probably computer-retarded so by the time he reads this and is able to tell me what he likes so I can put it in the bio he'll be divorced twice, have posted bail for his dog six times for putting the possession charges on him and have 17 kids to pay the child support for. But that's metal. All of the music you hear from us will most likely have been recorded using the simple setup of a computer and a computer mic. So, other than your mom, you won't find quality that good for shit equipment. What can I say? We'd rather spend our money on things like snack foods and nudy magazines. ERTW. That will do for now. Cheers,
Adam
