Every band biography needs a hook right? Well, in 2007 The New Jersey/ Maine based band hit a cross roads of sort. It was a sink or swim situation for Joseph, Shawn, and Ciem and rather than sink they chose to kill a passing boat enthusist, kill him, and take his speed boat on a joyride filled with groove and heartfelt lyrics.Throwing caution to the wind and departing from thier expansive death metal roots the band somewhat uncociously to take a new approach wich was fresh, yet still gives a nod to all they had worked on beforehand. Bringing together the finer elements of bands like Meshuggah, Testament, Will Haven, and even Glassjaw, Caricature has forged a sound all thier own which maintains technical proficiency but at the same time is accessible to any music fan. We now ask you to lend an ear to the revitalized musical styling of Caricature's "Sink Or Swim" EPFormed in 2005 Caricature began as a side solo project of Guitarist/vocalist/beard enthusiet, Joseph Spiller who was unhappy with his then current musical endevor which isnt even worth mentioning. After over a year and a half of failed attempts at finding members to collaborate with Caricature's other chief member, drummer/smooth ass pimp Shawn Eldridge joined the band. Though a small released, but well recieved demo was released nearly a year prior, in december of 2006 Caricature recorded an EP's worth of music that too went over quite well, Now with thier 3rd and defining demo release the band intends to cement thier feet into the music scene and wont leave until the party is dead and buried.
