Djing for over 20 years originally at dub and reggae dances, then moved into the Electro and Detroit / Chicago house sounds, D then starting a radio station called Sweet FM in the early 90’s in Birmingham after having a guest show on Second City Radio, this gave him the push and inspiration to start his own, starting “Sweet FM†gave D the chance to meet other like minded djs who joined the station and explore more fully the dance side of the scene. Sadly “Sweet FM†only lasted a couple of years, but this concreted links with other pirate radio stations in Birmingham including Time FM (Rave Station), Trance FM and Nice FM. Then being one of the first people to play on Birmingham’s own frequency of the London based “Kool FM†around 9 years ago, it was here that D hooked up with a newly formed fanzine ‘Breakin’ Point’ which catered heavily for urban music, in particular drum and bass .At this time D was playing week in week out on the radio and playing at Birmingham’s Antidote at the Que Club, which meant that he was constantly in touch with the public, and delivering what they wanted. As Breakin’ Point grew it was essential to have a dedicated drum and bass review editor to take full control over the input and output of music being released at the time to ensure once again that the public were delivered what they were after.Breakin Point opened many more doors for D, Playing at many venues including Oxfords ‘Source’ nights (thank you Sarah/Scotty), Guerrilla (Singapore), Bass Arena (Switzerland) and many many Breakin’ Point promotions in and around England.Oxfords Cellar bar hosted ‘Footage’ a night started by D that hosted such acts like Doc Scott, Total Science, John B, Surge, Pariah, Marcus Intalex and local talent including Chemical (who runs HQ alongside MC Manicular at the same venue till this day)and Dj Jossy etc…
