You grow up, grow old, or you hit the road round here...

About Me

Struggling writer, average pianist, lover of music and musicians (good music transcends genres), footy aficionado, lefty bleeding heart... I am a lot of things that you may or may not agree with but I don't appreciate being judged by people who don't even know me. Open your mind and the world becomes a better place... and we'll get along much better too. ;)

My Interests

adopt your own virtual pet!

I'd like to meet:

Friendly, mature, passionate, empathetic, thoughtful people. Maybe even you.

Music:

Bon Jovi, JBJ, Richie Sambora, David Bryan, Five For Fighting, Bruce Springsteen + funkloads more. Mostly rock genres with melodic hooks or classical music but as long as it involves real instruments and voices, I'm willing to listen at least once.

Movies:

Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Australian Rules... I also have a fixation with Jon Bon Jovi's movies: Row Your Boat & The Leading Man are my faves.

Television:

Heroes, Scrubs, Media Watch, probably a few others on a more casual basis. YouTube is great. Matt Sorum TV. Music channels when they're playing music. And the news, preferably non-commercial but depends what I'm in the mood for.

Books:

The Longest Memory, The Joy Luck Club, Star Man: The Right Hand Man of Rock 'n' Roll. Anything with a good story or characters I connect with, including biographies. I'm also not adverse to a bit of poetry and the occasional self-help book.

Heroes:

Troy Wilson... he's done more for me than he'll ever know. But I've admired and been shaped by too many people to name.

From New Jersey to Tokyo to the world

How many of the 80s "glam metal" (which many would argue isn't really metal but anyway) bands can still sell out stadiums today? With three generations of fans inside? I'm thinking probably not Poison...
