We live off the grid. Hydro-electric, baby! Um...we live in the house that my husband built. We just installed the first flushing toilet the house has ever seen. It's great, really. But not having one did manage to keep relatives at bay...
I have some super duper kids and a freaking awesome husband. He totally puts up with my mad-scientist absentmindedness.
My kids are super geniuses. It's really hard sometimes because I rarely can pull a fast one on the tall one...and even the short one is catching on WAY too fast!!
The spider in my window. I would ask him or her if I should dust more often. And it would say "hack hack i can't breathe..."
It is man's natural sickness to believe that he possesses the Truth.

Old stuff. Some new stuff. umm...today I like
The Bad Livers
Uncle Tupelo,
OCMS,
Ry Cooder
Bob Dylan
Doc Watson
Allison Krause & Union Station
Jayhawks
The Band
Robert Earl Keen
Jerry Jeff Walker....
Lucinda Williams Live at the Fillmore. She's like the Tori Amos for grown-ups. there. I said it.
Music has always been important to me. So much so that I bought a 30GB iPod. Damn I suck. It's pretty hard to fill up 30GBs worth of music...so I thought, what the hell, I'll throw a couple Colbert shows on there...but what they failed to tell you was that it takes two days to download a 21 minute TV Show. I'm too scared to attempt to download a movie.
Anyway, I like bluegrass, old-timey stuff, ballads, alternative country, new orleans music, cuban music, blues, and the occasional rock anthem.
I like 'em scary. That's it. Sorry, but it's true. It is, however, hard to, in good conscience, watch a scary movie with a 2 year old in the room. Therefore, I do not watch many scary movies.
The Wonder Pets. The Backyardigans. Dora the Exploder. Yes, I freaking have a TV. So shoot me.
Books? I read fragmented sentences from knitting patterns. And such classics as "Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island." The last book I read was "The Hive and the Honey Bee." THAT was a long time ago...Orchid Blues by Stuart Woods (It was okay. Not great. Too many contrived coincidences.) Saving Fish From Drowning by Amy Tan (difficult at first but gets epically better.) When the Earth Moves: Women and Orgasm by Mikaya Heart (Highly recommended!) Dalva by Jim Harrison (freaking awesome I can't wait to read "The Road Home" which completes the story.) Celestine Prophesies (lame story but good idea)
