About Me

The Lavalights are a group of experienced West Coast musicians who play a blend of R & B, swing, soul, and blues standards and originals. The Lavalights five members have played in a number of bands prior to creating The Lavalights. Wayne Evans was an original member of the great Vancouver R & B band The Nocturnals. He later joined James Thorhaug and Kerry Paulicelli in The Shakers, a popular Maple Ridge-based blues band; Kathryn Baird played piano with the 17 piece big band, The Bruce James Orchestra; and Cathy Barrington has been the lead singer for a number of groups including Tangled Web and The Cathy Barrington Trio. The band has performed at various venues since its inception in 2007. These include, among others, the Maple Ridge Golf Course, For the Love of Jenny Fundraiser, Café O’Lei, Skinny’s Grille, Jersey Joe’s Pub, the Jolly Coachman, Houston’s Pub and Grill and a number of private functions. The Lavalights bring a fun, 60’s flavoured Rhythm and Blues groove to the stage and their music is great for dancing, listening, or just groovin’ at clubs, pubs, dances, festivals, special events, and rec rooms anywhere. For booking information, contact: Jasper Productions - Kathryn or James 604-467-2841, [email protected]
