Although he didn't know it at the time, he was training to be what he is now: A versatile wordsmith with a fury of lyrics for any audience. Among the other influences he cites are Stevie Wonder, Tupac Shakur, Marvin Gaye, Biz Markie and Ice Cube. That's a prolific and accomplished group of artists, and with this in mind, Cleetus Kasiody is aiming to attach a similar star power to his name.
