Just lucky, I guess.

About Me

27 years old, recent college grad. Varied interests, accepting, open, and curses like a sailor. I am finally working a job in the real world. It's weird being on first shift, but quite refreshing.

My Interests

I read ALOT. I do some creative writing when I have the time. I've worked on film crews and theatre sets, mostly doing costuming and make-up, and my time can be quite expensive around Halloween. I got this motorcycle, which I need to learn to ride, and still have to pay for, and am presently dealing with the DMV about. I've ridden horses since I was 10. I like video games and goofing off on the internet. I made my own curtains. There's more, it just depends when you ask.

I'd like to meet:

Mark Twain.

Music:

I love live music. Around town I like Simplified, and I'm looking for more local music to support. I'm a fan of Barenaked Ladies, Alien Ant Farm, and others of the rock genre, both classic and newer. I also like the occasional country song, the occasional rap song, and my roommate got me into bluegrass. If you've ever heard of the song "Thunderhead" by Dhali Llama, I'd really like to hear from you.

Movies:

I like a lot of types; some of my favorites include 28 Days Later, Chasing Amy, Destiny Turns on the Radio, The Princess Bride, The Usual Suspects, Shakespeare in Love, and the remake of Dawn of the Dead. I'll watch just about anything, but my likes are a little harder to nail down.

Television:

I don't dig on too much TV, but I am guilty of General Hospital every once in a while, and I like those forensic science shows. And I'm all about some Closer and Saving Grace on Monday Night.

Books:

The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins, Bulletproof Girl by Quinn Dalton, Oh! The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss, and I look for books on camping, travel, human interaction, folklore, and anything that happens to strike my fancy.

Heroes:

Mom and Dad. If I'm half the person either one of them is, I figure I turned out OK. Also, to my Soldiers and my Marines, the president's a dipshit, but I love you guys, and I'll always be behind you.

Things that go bump in the night. See also: pit bulls.

So last night, I was running on about 4 hours of sleep, and I fell asleep on the couch at about 9 while working on a lesson plan.  I woke up with a start about an hour and a half later when my ro...

Totally psyched

So I walked into the interview of the job that I got 30 minutes late...And somehow it worked out. In my defense, it was a total accident.  I bought this date book to try and keep track of my shit...

Job hunting sucks

I mean, seriously.  I might be cocky as all get out, but having to sit in front of someone and tell them why they should hire me just feels wrong to me.  After a bombed interview with one sc...

Back to life, back to reality.

I had been meaning to sit down and write for a while, but it's been a nutty couple of weeks.  I did get some sewing done, with a bunch more on the list to finish.  I've managed to get throug...

The Burren

Well, after finally  getting better, we went out last night and listened to a Celtic girl trio and drank some pints.  We played some Irish pool which is somewhat similar to American pool, bu...

Almost human again.

Woke up this morning starving and feeling almost human.  It was a welcome sensation.  Jon's throat is now bothering him, but he's got a cough and I didn't, so hopefully, he's got something b...

Sick...

Being sick on vacation sucks.  There's no two ways about it.  I thought I was going to die on Saturday, but I think my fever's finally broken on its own.  Throat's still a little sore, ...

See?! The Cliffs of Insanity!

Finally had our second day of sun today.  It's presently about 10PM, and it's now raining again.  Think I'm going to take it easy tonight, because I still don't feel like I'm back to 100%.&n...

Been a few days, but here goes.

Loooong update today.  So, after we went back to New Ross after Kilkenny, we headed to Cork City.  We went by way of Waterford and Blarney, both of which were pretty cool.  We went ...
