I am here for Friends

About Me

One more time...About me. Well, describing myself in truth has not always been my strongpoint. If I do, it's going to sound vain, self-depreciating, arrogant, or stupid. And I certainly don't want to do that, do I? But, I'll say what I can.

I'm a gamer. Playing-since-forever, flesh and blood. I also enjoy books. More than enjoy.

I am also fucking Metal. Any disputes on this, take it up with me.

But, other than that... I'm a dork. I love the library, the movies, the comic book store, and LAN parties.

Anything else, check out a blog or the lists. Instant Quistis, microwavable, ready in 5 minutes.

I posted this to download some free old games. Yay!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

To MEET?

Someone whom I can relate to. Someone entertaining. Someone I can run around with and they don't make me feel lesser, or superior, or anything but what I am. And for the love of gods, someone that isn't a typical fucktard. You know the type. I'm not looking for accomplished, or rich. Just interesting, goddammit, and that's the way I like it.

Music:

Apocalyptica, Iced Earth, Bach, Therion, Immortal, Beethoven, Blind Guardian, Metallica, Stravinsky, Vivaldi, Mozart, Dragonland, Chaikovsky, Inkari, Rhapsody (of Fire), Styx, Tangerine Dream, Kansas, Luca Turilli, Enigma, Hellhammer, Amon Amarth, Demons & Wizards, Dargaard, Helloween, Einherjer, Celtic Frost, Venom, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Dragonforce, U2, Cannibal Corpse, REO Speedwagon, Haggard, Asmegin, Hollenthon, Enya, FinnTroll, E.S. Posthumus...Can't think of more right now.

Movies:

Where to begin!

Again, that's the general idea.

Television:

I haven't had TV in over 2 years. But, when I did, it was mostly Discovery Channel, Cartoon network, the History channel, Animal Planet, the Food network... Nothing worth noting, besides Gargoyles. Loved that damn show.

Books:

This should be longer than it's going to be. Much longer.

C.S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkein, Simon R. Greene, Michael Swanwick, Neil Gaiman, Bruce Coville, Peter S. Beagle Brian Jacques, Anne McCaffrey (Pegasus in Flight), Douglas Adams, Chuck Palahniuk, Susanna Kaysen, Susan Cooper, Greg Bear, Sherryl Jordan, Orson Scott Card, Annette Curtis Klause, Sharon Shinn, Laurell K. Barron, Terry Pratchet, Robert C. O'Brien, L. Frank Baum, Isobelle Carmody, Patricia Briggs...I've got loads more, but to hell if I'm going to remember them. .

Heroes:

Okay, Okay. I have a hero. Toby Dexter.

"What value can one ordinary man have in a magical world?
What can a mortal bring to the affairs of immortals?
Insight. Honor. Morality. Perspective.
Because nothing makes love and life matter more

than the knowledge that some day it must end."

My Blog

Sometimes, books really piss me off.

This is one of those times. I read the new Laurell K. Hamilton Anita Blake novella, called Micah, which was DYSMALLY short. I mean, this was, for me, a 3-hour-sit. Which is BS. It was like a jointer n...

Hmm.

You ever stop in the middle of a street, and looking up at the clouds. Or stars. Or smog. And as everyone's honking at you (or not, depending on which street you're on at what time of day...

Le sigh.

I have determined... well, not quite determined, as I have thought this many times before... I have remembered that humanity is, in major, worthless. As for looking through my immediate area, no-one s...

Story

I managed to make my story, which was not science fiction to begin with, just that. At least I actually like it. Which is weird, because I was almost always more of a Fantasy person. Still am. But I'v...

Eddie Izzard

Great stuff. If you haven't heard of him, or seen him before, he's an English transvestite comedian. Fucking hysterical. Though, sometimes, he mumbles, and it's a bit hard to understand unless you've ...

Work!

Today I quit my job. And I went home. But they called me back, and said that they'd take care of what I got mad over (which was petty, but it was the tip of the iceberg of a few month's bullshit) and...

Hmm...

Is there something wrong with me? I'm here at home, reading my book, and my friends are next door getting themselves drunk. And I have been invited over there to get drunk with them. But there is no ...

The Bard's Song

I'm in one of those states... after you've taken a nap... where your mind is inexorably clear and unfocused. It's like, I've gotten out of bed, but my mind is still curled up in that blanket. And so, ...
