Band Members:Johnni Boy has been recognized as an artist that posesses a laid-back & fly monicer he often refers to as "swag", but can also be aggressive & witty with his wordplay, but his story has an unlikely & interesting beginning. As a child, Johnni loved the smooth sound of Motown music, it was the vunerability of singers like Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Diana Ross that spoke to him in a way that rap didn't. The bravado of Hip Hop seemed false on the other hand, and Johnni let his older brother be the fan while he preferred the style and dance of artists such as Michael Jackson. Like his father Johnni has always had a strong love for the ladies, and dancing well was a good way to captivate their attention as a kid. Even though he was more known for being the shy kid, his committment to what he was passionate for was evident even then when he knocked out one of his teeth breakdancing. but when he heard Slick Rick's "a childrens story" he was amazed at the new sound and poetry it possessed. "It was fly, but lyrical, with a story, so even if you didn't like Hip-Hop you wanted to listen". Around the same time his brother sprinted into their room with LL Cool J's 'I'm Bad" cassette like it was gold and while they both almost broke the boombox in their excitement, after hearing the vulnerability on songs like "I Need Love" another love affair would definately not fall far behind. Johnni Boy started to write poetry and rhymes and began to cultivate and hone his distinctive style. When he recorded a tape in secret and played it in an infamous nightclub he was supposed to be to young to attend, the crowd was wowed by the unusual mixing he was rapping over coupled with his lyrical techniques. Selling the tapes that night, Johnni realized that not only could the music industry appreciate his music, but his razor sharp business sense and innovative marketing techniques as well. It took a few years, trials and tribulations before Johnni was able to actualize his dream. Johnni's determination and hustle were already deep, and the more that he experienced in his young life, the hungrier and more focused he became. With the likes of groups that didn't work out, having to learn to count bars and actually make songs and not just rap, fellow artists not showing the same sense of urgency, school, legal speedbumps and the like only made Johnni realize that the music was his only love, & ultimately his only "legal" option. When he started Neumoney Music, it was with the knowledge that the Northwest would soon become a goldrush for talent and solid business investments. Johnni recognized that his company could be a powerhouse not only in the music industry but also delving into a source of other industries (modeling, fashion,marketing etc. hence Neumoney&Co.) as the company flourished and the client list grew. Neumoney is more than a record label, it is a company where artists can grow and develop their style experiencing the diversity within genres of the music industry,and do so with a company that recognizes unconventiality and "neu", creative styles. Performances at colleges and nightclubs all over the Northwest solidified Johnni Boy as a true artist, and Neumoney Music as a solidified company that represents the struggle and celebrates the ability to turn nothing into something.
