State of Mind is everything...

About Me

I love music. It gives me hope. Sanity. Awareness. Consciousness. It's an expression of the mind, body, and soul. It expresses what words cannot express. Although I love many forms of music (I consider myself pretty eclectic when it comes to music, just check out my Music section), I'm most passionate about Dance/Electronic music. I can't explain what it is about that hi-hat, kick drum, clap or 303-synth bass that gets me so excited. It expresses so much energy and emotion without a single word being uttered, and it gets floors of people moving. I find it pretty strange that I love a genre so misunderstood by the masses -- where most find it repetitive, monotonous, lacking soul, and generally classify it under "techno" -- I can get into excruciating detail over the subgenres of House, Trance, Electro, Breaks -- and to top it off, I discuss it with other music nerds who are more anal retentive than myself. My life was changed before I knew it when I was introduced to Dance music. As soon as I heard my first mixtape around the dawning of the new millennia (in the Year 2000, LOL) I was instantly hooked. I kept seeking more -- and more. And when my best buddy Mike moved back to the states from Poland in 2000, he had all the buzz on the hottest new tracks, which made the obsession grow uncontrollably ever since. This led to me studying and learning and gaining as much knowledge about the genre as possible. It's resulted in my interest for DJing and producing music. Dance music is an addiction I can't live without. It gives my life purpose and direction. It connects me with the real me. It’s my one true passion and I hope to make a living of it some day. . . it would only be natural ( = Besides music, I'm a full-time student; work part-time. I enjoy hanging out with close friends. Going to clubs/concerts. Making beats. Spinning tracks. Watching movies. Hiking. Being immersed in nature. Walking on the beach. Pumping up! Watching classic cartoons. Acting a fool. Exercising and playing sports. Now that I think of it, I'm a pretty simple, incomplex person. I like to surround myself with positive "happy" people. I like challenging myself and experiencing new things; change is a must! I'm an easy-going guy so I can get along with almost anyone, unless of course they're a Debbie Downer or Negative Nancy: Waaaaaaaahm waaaaaaaahm! ( :
