New as a band and new to eachother, the band members all have their own seperate stories about what lead them to Cardiff for a life of folk-rock, chants, guiro, and Nepalese drums. It's members are Carl Hodgetts (originally from Tamworth), Mathieu Albasser (originally from Strasbourg) and Samuel Souter (originally from Cambridge)...Carl & Mat became friends through their PhD and only after a year did they realise their shared enthusiasm for writing and performing music. It was only when Mat became aware of Carl's solo efforts as Fingolfin that they started to play together and discuss the possibility of taking guitar brainstorms to a more serious stage. In order to better the sound they decided that a drummer was needed. Just days later, Carl and Mat came to learn that Sam, a then friend-of-a-friend, was a drummer in need of resurrecting his art...On a cold december evening, over a glass of slovakian liquer, it was decided; a band was born....
