About Me

callithump: a large, boisterous band or parade
Callithump was a local & national booking agency which specialized in show promotion/production and artist management.
ATTN: Callithump is on an official hiatus from throwing any shows. Please contact venues directly to try to book your band. Also, I'm not taking on any bands to book.
Artists that have been booked through Callithump are: Ashburne Glen ; Ben Fleming ; Blackheart Society ; Cartright ; The Happy Bullets ; Mazinga Phaser II ; The Naptime Shake ; Prayer for Animals ; Tame...Tame and Quiet & The Tah-Dahs . I have the utmost respect for all these acts & it was a pleasure working with them.
I've thrown Callithump shows at The Cavern , Club Dada , Darkside Lounge , Double-Wide , Metrognome Collective (Fort Worth), Mohawk (Austin), Rubber Gloves (Denton) & Trophy's (Austin).
I've booked shows & my artists with several area bands as well as many national acts, ie. The Black Angels , Ghostland Observatory , Gris Gris , The Willowz , etc...
From a recent review of a Callithump Showcase in the Dallas Observer : "The only thing the three Dallas acts on last Wednesday's Callithump Productions bill at the Darkside Lounge had in common was an invite to SXSW. Nothing musically linked the sleepy-time guitarwork of Crushed Stars, the manic, confessional rap of Pikahsso and the Strange Boys' whiny-voiced garage punk, and the pre-fest showcase was all the better for it...Rap-rock aside, rappers and rock bands rarely play the same shows in Dallas, and hopefully, showcases like this will change that. Everyone I spoke to at the show, musicians and audience alike, agreed the experiment was a success."
Also, this appeared in the 6/22/06 issue of the Dallas Observer : "Everybody in Dallas, give it up for Callithump Productions. In its short lifespan, the local booking upstart has quickly grown from aimless infant to badass teen, and this Callithump showcase proves it by proudly showcasing two of the area's most outstanding new acts." (Teenage Symphony & Tame...Tame and Quiet)
