Greaser Punk!

About Me

'We Wanna Go!'
the latest full length record
is now available online at CD Baby...
Here are basic facts....
Spector 45 is a Dallas based greaser punk band that formed in April 2003, by guys NOT interested in being another Blink, Greenday or Offspring knock off, like everyone else our age seemed to be at the time... Instead, we are heavily influenced by the same stuff that probably inspired those bands. We seek the pure energy of 50's Rock n Roll and original 70's Punk Rock, and kick it out for today's audience... We appeal to both 'All Ages' and 'Old School' crowds, have played over 200 shows and are always happy to get beyond our Texas roots.
Spector 45 releases include...
'16 with a Bullet' - full length CD - September 2003
'Girls, Cars & Rock n' Roll!' - six song EP - August 2004
'We wanna Go!' - full length CD - June 2006
(all are on the bands own 'Retroplex Records')
Spector 45 also appears on these compilations
'Small Guy' compilation - one song - July 2004
'Third String' compilation - two songs - December 2004
'Rockin' Bones Videozine' Volume 3 - two songs - January 2005
'Podpak' SXSW Compilation - one song - March 2006
We've played some great clubs from Texas to the Carolina's including...
Gypsy Tea Room, Headhunters, The Milestone, Club Clearview, Beerland, The Aardvark, Jiggers, Rock Steady, Kirby's Beer Store, Lemmons,The Sports Page, The Anchor, Sodies Underground, Red Blood Club, Headhunters, the Wreck Room, The Pink Eye, Bar of Soap, Darkslide Skate Park, The Electric Chair, The Haunted Kitchen, The Star Bar, Rubber Gloves, The Lakewood Theater, Doublewide, and The Darkside Lounge.
We've shared the stage with...
the Reverend Horton Heat, the Exploited, Violent Femmes, The Old 97's, Exene Cervenka, The Deathray Davies, The Dwarves, the Nekromantix, the Legendary Shack Shakers, the Vibrators, New Model Army, Throwrag, the Letters Organize, the Epoxies, Riverboat Gamblers, the Twats, 7 Shot Screamers, Lower Class Brats, Total Chaos, The Chop Tops, Pink Spiders, Reno Divorce, Polysics, Burden Brothers, The Koffin Kats, Bell Rays, The Sex Slaves, Uncle Fucker and the Turbo AC's... many times more than once.
Spector 45 and Frankie's side projects w/ Laura Harrell and Frankie 45 & Ben Martin are ready to rock at this time.

What others are saying...

'Singer Frankie Campagna's drawling yowl distinguishes some rather formulaic rants ("Liquor Hard" and "Social Reject") as bassist John Murray and drummer Anthony Delabano flail away like an engine about to throw a rod. It's just this kind of sloppy cacophony that gave punk rock a good name to begin with.'
2006 We wanna Go! review - Darryl Smyers / Dallas Observer

Musically it's hard to fathom that these kids are so young. The musical punch they pack is heavily built upon some serious guitar playing; squealing, southern solos all over some good punk beats. They can shred with the best of them, with music that's infectious and just jumps all over you. '
Chemical X - Issue 3

'Punk plain and simple this album is punk. Not pop punk, not emo, not hardcore, not post punk not proto punk, not anything remotely associated with punk, just punk. Think The Ramones, New York Dolls, think punk.
2005 Sampler review
J. Stone / WMUC 88.1 FM College Park, MD.

'Coming from Dallas, this young band fresh out of high school is already putting shame on many of the hacks whove staked claim to the greaser punk territory over the years. This disc is definitely haunted by some 50s rocknroll melodies, in much the same way that the Ramones were, but this doesnt come off another as bargain bin clone aping that formula. Instead, those familiar elements are twisted into a sarcastic punk album with pop hooks and an earnest delivery.'
2005 Sampler review
BL / Rock & Roll Purgatory

'The bands I like right now are Split Lip Rayfield, The Legendary Shack Shakers, Deke Dickerson, he's awesome - great music. There's a new band from Dallas called Spector 45 that's pretty cool. You know man, I'm just not the one to keep up with all the new bands.'
The Reverend Horton Heat
Chemical X - Issue 1

Influences: Influences include Ramones, Buddy Holly, The Dolls, Johnny Thunders, Riverboat Gamblers, Dead Boys, Reverend Horton Heat, Early Elvis, the Stooges, Social Distortion, Turbo AC's, Dick Dale, Johnny Cash, and Nervebreakers...

Reactions will be a whole lotta Shakin' & a Rockin' good time!

Sounds Like:

Reviews have said
'Ramones meet the soundtrack to Grease'...
or the 'Sex Pistols on Red Bull'
both sound pretty cool to me!
