About Me

Music is a powerful medium, and the influence can be really positive, or very harmful. The Musicians Prayer Network is a network of musos who are committed to supporting Christians in the music scene. We want to see a community develop among Christian musos based on the values described in Philippians chapter 2, “Let each of you look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others … in humility consider others before yourselves”.Romans 1:11 is another defining passage, “I long to come and see you so that I can impart some spiritual gift to you, so that you and I can be mutually encouraged by each others faith”.One way we do this is through prayer support. At gigs we make opportunities to pray with bands or artists before they play. We also have a prayer team, mostly musos themselves. I forward on prayer requests that musos send to me.Getting together is an important part of building the sort of community we want to see. We want to provide opportunities for musos to get together to talk, to pray, and to build relationships.I've been a musician myself – played guitar and bass. Never made it professionally, mainly playing in a few party bands around Newcastle, NSW, and also in some church bands. If you are a Christian involved in the music scene and want to know more about the prayer support, and the groups drop me a line and ask me to fill you in on what we are doing.

Should I or Shouldnt I?

In The World, Part 2   In the last devotion I wrote about the need for some of us to be out in the world with our music. We need to be sharing the love of Jesus, and His story of life and hope, ...

We Have To Be There

In The World Some of the people I talk to outside of the music scene are very concerned about us frequenting pubs and clubs. I want to address some of their concerns here. I agree that some of them ...

We Have To Read It

The Word of God At a recent muso prayer network gathering I asked if anyone wanted to share with us something they had read from God's Word. After an embarrassed silence, it came out that only one pe...

That Band Stinks, or Does It?

Just read a blog from the Richard Beeston Band commenting on people saying certain styles of music stink. They ask us to review their music and comment, whether it stinks or not. Brave move....
