Taylor was born out of the giving of musical gifts and now continues to develop into an anthem of true hope and soaring emotions...
Inspired by many and with a passionate love for music, Calvin Roy created the band that begins only as a dream.
Originating in Durban, South Africa, it was soon after he moved to Australia in 1990 when he discovered the beauty of music. Following in his Father's footsteps he became a drummer. His first drumkit being a number of strategically placed Tupperware containers and pots on the legs of upside down chairs.
Performing in grunge, punk and rock outfits and inspired by bands such as Silverchair, Green Day and The Presidents Of The United States of America he soon learnt the hardships of an overwhelming music industry. In a step of faith he relocated to Sydney in 2001. It wasn't until then that he began to experiment with other instruments.
In the year 2002, he wrote and recorded a raw acoustic track in his bedroom, "Give Again" intended only as a gift to a friend. At the beginning of 2003, he built-up a budget home studio and recorded the song, "A Thousand Reasons" another gift to yet another friend.
Encouraged to write and record more, he was drawn to do just that. Calvin is currently in the process of recording Taylor's first EP, '...the pleasure of your company' which will be released at the end of the year.
