I tend to be a fairly easygoing person....unless, of course, someone gives me a reason not to be. However, it has to be a very valid reason.If you read my blog, it will reveal quite a bit more of what I am like as a person. I enjoy things that make me laugh...jokes, friends,and crazy things in life in general. In the past few months, I have been going through some major life changes...some are difficult,some are relieving,and some are a little or a lot of both. I am learning to fly. When I say fly, I mean it in the sense that God is carrying me on his wings of love and change all at the same time. I have always considered myself to be a fairly reasonable human being and, for the most part, I do get along with most people quite well. Lately however, I've had to face experiences that have taught me to realize that I need to become tougher in some areas while becoming a little more sensitive in others. During my quest to figure out a few things about myself I came across a book by Bill Hybels titled, "Who You Are When No One's Looking." This book is basically about the ultimate quest for character and it has been very difficult for me to read. It is about courage, discipline, vision, and endurance; all qualities that the author refers to as endangered qualities in this day and age and the development of these qualities are prerequisites to the ability to love others in a genuine sense. This is not only true when it comes to loving others, but it is true when it comes to loving myself as well.I believe in a God who loves and forgives forever and He will be with me every time I stumble and will need to be picked back up. God bless all of you who have ever had a rough time, are having a rough time, or who will go through the fire and test of character and faith in the future. Instead of the typical "been there, done that," I can only say, "am there, doing that," and will continue doing that. Last, but not least, kudos to the author of "Who You Are When No One's Looking." To those of you who read my profile, this is my heartfelt prayer...if you haven't already done so, may you learn to fly.

Seriously now;wacky sense of humor set aside--I am willing to meet people with a sincere faith in God and a reasonable amount of emotional intelligence. Movies:

My favorite movies are comedies. Bruce Almighty, Ace Ventura (the second one), Liar Liar, Tommy Boy, Beverly Hills Ninja, Never Been kissed (a bit of an unrealistic romantic twist that goes with it, but still a funny movie), Jumpin Jack Flash (a very old one...hillarious),another very old one is The Lemon with Tom Hanks and Shelly Long. For some reason, that one made me laugh so hard I could hardly breathe. Although comedy is my favorite, I do like some scary and action adventure movies and even fewer dramas. My favorite drama that stands out is Mr Holland's Opus. That's a drama that actually makes sense without a bunch of stupid, senseless drama queen and king garbage. There is something to be said for triumph after perseverence while weathering the storm.

Television:

Television???? What's television??? It's been so long...would someone define television please?

Books:

The Bible,devotionals, books that are informative,Stephen King, John Saul,The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand,any other miscellaneous books that sound good,Norton Anthology literature,short stories such as Sonny's Blues by James Baldwin,Forgiveness by Rebecca Brown. I also enjoy reading poetry, especially when it's written by someone I know. Yup. That means you, Henry. One of my favorite poets is Dorothy Parker, although she tends to be a bit gloomy.
