I'm not gonna lie, I am a sucker for chunky peanut butter. I feel strongly about PB&J's with jam, spackled on a firm sourdough base. I'm also interested in other stuff like equity, music, bicycling (no motors), non human animals and reading and trying to figure out why stuff is nice or classic or really cool. Lastly I wish to make this a forum for me to divulge the truth about my career aspirations. I wish to work with young folks in hopes to help steer them in a direction that they may not have been headed while the whole time understanding that education and life is a two way street.
I'M HOPING TO MEET SOMEONE WHO CAN TYPE 100 WORDS A MINUTE W/O TOO MANY ERRORS, YET ALSO IS FOND OF 'GOOD' MUSIC. WHILE I DON'T WANT TO BE A TROPHY HUSBAND MY WHOLE LIFE, I AM INTERESTED IN SPENDING MY LATE 20'S AND EARLY THIRTIES W/ A SUGAR MAMA WHILE WORKING ON MY CAREER ASPIRATIONS AS A HOBBY. SO IF YOU ARE READING THIS, AND ARE 44 AND OLDER AND ARE INTERESTED, DROP ME A LINE. OR IF YOU ARE MY AGE, AND YOU HAVE A MOM OR AN AUNT THAT IS SINGLE, MAYBE YOU COULD REFER THEM TO THIS PAGE. I DON'T KNOW. I THOUGHT THAT I'D GIVE IT A SHOT.
man, i like good music. right now in my headphones i have some DJ Spooky and sitting next to me is the best of Donald Byrd. I like good rap music, which tends to be of the underground variety and am an aficionado of rap music that uses live instumentation. Some of my favorite artists right now are: Cannonball, Azeem(w/VU), Josh Martinez, the Grouch and i can't really think of a lot right now. furthermore i am into a lot of old stuff like: The Delfonics, Curtis Mayfield, Sly and the Family Stone, Mandril, The Pazant Brothers, Earth Wind and Fire. Just all the funky, 'soulful' stuff. And i also like other stuff too, but not ass much as the old r and b type stuff and the rap.(Addendum...This is some of the other stuff i like): Bonobo, OAR, Dispatch, Buckethead, Ani Difranco, Bobby Huthchinson(we all like good vibes), Steel Pulse, Mutabaruka, Dub FX, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, DJ SHadow, Z-trip, Zeph, Toots and the Maytals, Roy Ayers, Spearhead, Sizzla, Amon Tobin, Dean Fraser, Herbie Mann, Vinyl, Quantic, DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, String Cheese Incident, Mogwai, Free Moral Agent, Augustus Pablo, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Cake, Ween, Beck (and lots of other four letter bands), Postal Service, War, Michelle N'dgeicello(fat basslines), Soul Coughing...and of course Edie Brickell.
I like a good flick as much as the next guy. Movies that make you think and that elicit the pathos of a situation are great. Also movies that are not formulaic and have an artistic quality are real nice. I'm not gonna lie, I really get wrapped up in those movies that are dramatic/romantic (ie xx/xy) too. Let me see... I liked Dopamine, Y tu mama Tambien, all movies about hip-hop and bicycling, damn near every eighties movie and especially Weird Science, Fall (dope as movie), Run Lola Run, Best of the Best.
Movie channels like a mo'fo, mo'fo. Jeopardy, Real World, Blind Date, Pool on ESPN, and of course Vh1 Soul on Comcast channel 474
Books are cool. i have had the chance this summer to peruse many books. the best this summer was A Passage to India. Dope book. i also read The Count of Monte Cristo a few months ago that may have affected my life. I have recently been reading a lot of books about music. Trying to learn about everything. i am reading a book about motown, rock and roll heavyweights and two books on the hip hop culture and more specifically rap music. in addition, i am going through the literary canon of the late 18 and early 1900's. currently i am reading a book called the Tropic of Cancer.
Besides my mom and Mel Torme i would have to say that i do not have any others.
