About Me

There's one word that best describes his music... smooth. And there's one word to describe the way it makes you feel... soothed. The self-contained artist blends pop, R&B, and contemporary jazz flavors with lyrical poetry in a soulful brew, his debut release, the full length CD titled "Essential."Born in Arizona, a military brat, he's experienced life on both coasts, as well as briefly in Japan and in Sweden. "I know that I was meant to do this," he says, "I even dream music."The emerging young artist takes songwriting very seriously and attended a summer session at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. "The challenge in songwriting," according to Gregory, "is to vividly capture a mood, thought, or emotion given only a few minutes, using the most evocative words and sounds that you can squeeze onto your palette. Like a painting that combines color and texture, music is art for the canvas of the ears and anything other than the essential is wasted."In case you haven't heard, listen closely, you just may find yourself in the soothing sounds of Gregory Alan...
