"Sacred Veil"
I was born in Hiroshima, Japan and moved to the U.S. when I was two. I lived in Arizona, but I grew up in San Diego. Currently, I am a third-year undergrad at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in psychology.
I have had a complex life which I am realizing more and more has made me who I am and has textured my perspectives and ideals in a way that I could never put into words. I am most grateful to my mother who is really the reason my life has been constructed the way it has and whom I owe everything to. My mother and my brother are the two people I know will always be with me, and although it's a small family it's more than enough for me.
My first name...Seira...means sacred veil and since it is a little difficult to pronounce in Japanese I go by the pronunciation of Sarah. My biggest pet peeve is when people continuously mispronounce or misspell my name after I tell them how to pronounce it. If you really want to get on my good side pronounce it like it's supposed to...go learn some japanese.
Like I always say...how much personal information do I need to disclose on such a public domain? What in the world are we really trying to portray to strangers we will never meet?

Career Goals
My first priority in my life right now is school. With my major I plan to go to graduate school with a focus on clinical psychology. My long-term career goals include industrial/organizational psychology, forensic psychology, and sport psychology.
I'm going through that slump that everyone goes through when they question the worth of all the work they put into school. All this schoolwork has put a toll on my optimism and has made me question the path that has been laid out for me in terms of education. I have always been the school type and have always thought there was no other way than to go to a good college a good graduate school and then dive into a career...no breaks along the way. I have been contemplating taking some time off once I receive my bachelor's but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I do know that I refuse to settle for less than I can achieve.
I have recently been delving into the modeling industry and lovin it. This is my escape and passion away from school and with some luck will become something more than a hobby. I have recently been doing some promotional work and I have some photoshoots coming up that I am really looking forward to. If I get into this industry enough then I have intentions of changing the way people view Asian women as exotic creatures who typically do no more than import modeling. In addition I would love to bring some queer awareness into the picture and to show that queer women are beautiful and make a stand in every aspect of modern culture.
