Handsome Devil Records

Coming Summer 2008!

About Me

Handsome Devil is something new, and something old. We miss the days of old, when the music was what got you out at night, and got you to the record store to drop $40 on a Cure bootleg, even though that was all the cash you had for the week. You starved for the music, it’s what you did.

Formed in January 2008, and launching in the Summer, Handsome Devil is a label with a purpose and a vision. If you miss the days of 4AD, Rough Trade, Sire, and all the other great alternative/indie labels of the last 20-30 years, let’s cheer the new kid carrying the torch.

If we could, we’d immediately sign the following bands: Kitchens of Distinction, Elastica, Book of Love, The Housemartins, Suede, Sugar, and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin. If we were greedy, we’d also include The Smiths, The Jesus & Mary Chain, and also The Sundays, but we’ll work on that initial list first.

Our band includes the shy guy the theater girl thinks about all the time, but has not ever kissed.

Our band includes the girl with glasses, still looking for those 12 inch vinyl records by the Smiths.

Our band includes Ducky from Pretty In Pink, and all the people who listen to music with the lights off.

Our band includes the geek in his bedroom making his own music, a purist who knows that in 10 years, everything will change, and his work will be revered.

Our band includes the guy with thousands and thousands of CDs, who realizes he spent too much time listening to the music, when he should have been creating it.

Our band includes anyone who realizes the music industry is shit, but the music will go on, always.
