Pop culture and trivia. Researching, experiencing and critiquing hotels and restaurants, bars and television shows and commericals. Writing about my exploits. Beer and Bourbon, but not together. Investigative reporting - They never give you the whole truth in the news. And seriously, with local and national news agendas, they'll never cover everything that you need to know. I have sent two news items to local news and the AP. Both have been reported .. I sent it in. I'm just saying.

People who can hold conversations about nothing in particular, but not in that creepy "did you serioulsy say what I think you just said" way. Anyone who understands why Jif peanut butter, Fritos and baby carrots are the perfect snack combination. Anyone who likes to travel. Someone who can teach me how to juggle. Oooooh - and someone who can teach me how to whistle really loudly using my fingers. Seriously, can anyone teach me that?
I'm allover the place with music. Don't laugh, but I love showtunes! I think it's the fact that I can sing very loudly along side of them because they almost all have some sort of long, loud notes that i never hit but love to try. Same reason I love most songs - power chords and ballads. I love 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s artists. I love the metal of the 80s and 90s. But to list a few: Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, Megadeath, NIN, Alice in Chains, Hank Williams, Sr n Jr., Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Cash, Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, the Corb Lund Band, Dee-Lite, Lords of Acid, Bob Dylan, Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp, The Beatles, The Doors, Sublime, Souls of Blues Revival, Edith Piaf, Ben Folds Five, The Donnas, Harry Connick, Jr., Elton John, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Matraca Berg, Barry Manilow, Beastie Boys, Black Crowes, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley, G. Love and the Special Sauce, Jewel, Joe Cocker, Metallica, Outkast, Pat Green, Southern Culture on the Skids....really I'll give anything a try once. I like anything that makes me want to shake my booty, though I rarely dance.
I'll watch anything once. Artsy, stupid, silly, scary, funny, serious, dramatic, subtitled - whatever. Army of Darkness, Office Space, Supter Troopers, Goonies, all the Rat Pack films, Life is Beautiful, Spy Games, the Muppet Movies, Audrey Hepburn movies, The Rock, Forrest Gump, My Cousin Vinny, The Dark Crystal, A Bronx Tale, anything that has an awesome soundtrack, especially movies about football(Rudy, We Are Marshall, Remember the Titans, The Replacements, etc) and golf (The Best Game Ever Played, Baggar Vance), etc. It's like watching ESPN classic, when they play the 1983 Superbowl, but put really inspiring music behind it. I cry every time. I guess the one type I can't stomach too well is anything involving bathroom humor - fart jokes, poop jokes, etc. Anything asinine is really a waste of my time, since it's not teaching me anything, and it's not evoking an emotion other then disgust.
I am so absorbed in the world of TV. But suck it - I don't make you watch it. Dirty Jobs w/ Mike "Hottie" Rowe, and anything Discovery, History, etc. These programs have come in handy when playing Trivial Pusuit or Bar Trivia. I swear. As for sitcoms, dramadies, comedies, etc: I will give anything a chance. My newest love is Eli Stone. Just started, and it is GOOD. "How I Met your Mother" is freaking hilarious! And oh that Doogie Howser - this is HIS comeback! I watch Ellen everyday when I get home from work. And then every night, I turn on the TiVo and see what else I have: Kathy Griffin, Project Runway, Monk, Psych, Medium, The Closer, Saving Grace, Make me a Supermodel, Rock of Love, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, Top Chef, Dancing with the Stars, House, Bones, Moonlight, CSI, Ghost Whisperer, Number3, Pushing Daises, anything FOOD Network, especially Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, BRAVO, HGTV, etc. Many shows that I enjoyed have been canceled over the years. And that makes me sad. But nevertheless, I am in LOVE with my TiVo.
I love to read.I love to entertain, so my bookshelf has a lot of cookbooks and cocktail manuals, which I regularly pull off the shelf and create for friends and family. I am addicted to Archie Comic Books. I cannot walk past one in the store without at least flipping through to see how many story lines they have recycled. I love mystery novels, and anything that makes me laugh and cry. I am also a bit of a narcissist, as I have tons of astrology books. Mine is always dead on, even my chinese one, which has to mean that it is definitley not the same for other 1978 Sagitarius, so how must they feel? Lost...J/J. I also love to read all sorts of magazines because you can get a little bit of information on a lot of topics.
