The Maker is a 3 piece original energetic, funky, dancy, dirty, sleazy, rocky band from Immingham,
The band is made up of:
Seany on the Bass and Vocals
Lee on the Geetar and Vocals
Andy who Bangs the Drums
In the past 2 and a half years The Maker have toured all over the UK, have been to Europe, and supported the likes of The Bluetones, Rick Witter (Shed Seven), Simon Townsend (The Who), Bruce Foxton (The Jam) and Mick Jones (The Clash),
And we are going to continue on playing more gigs like these, in bigger and better venues in the next year
Also due to line up changes and the aims the band wish to achieve we have decided to leave leaping cat records to pursue bigger and better things
To the fans who know the music of The Maker we are looking forward to
bring upon you our new lineup and our better and improved sound
To those who haven’t seen us, we will look forward to meeting you someday
Wayne (Rock Open Review) - The first thing to say about this band is they were one of the tightest and professional sounding bands of the night. They held the audience with a series of driving infectious tunes. The Bass player/singer was in command of proceedings and stood out as they're driving force. Allowing the guitarist plenty of freedom. The drummer too was spot on, working hard to complete the trio. With songs such as "Secret Scandals " and " Jail Bird" they showed themselves to be on the pulse with current trends. I would say that maybe they were the best band of the night, if it wasn't for one thing. Their just too close to the Artic Monkeys for comfort for me. It was almost like listening the tracks the Monkeys left off they're albums. I'd like to see them move away from the shadow of the Monkeys and create their own sound. They may not have to change much as they have all the tools to do so and it'll be well worth listening to. Saying that I still think this is a really good band, well worth checking out if you see them coming to a town near you. Your not going to be disappointed.
Grimsby Telegraph - Immingham three piece band The Maker has a full
brit rock sound and features the first of a number of lead singing bass
guitarists. A touch of Bowiesque vocally. An energetic band.
