About Me

Everything can change in 72 hours. The only trouble is Lauren Seymour likes things exactly as they are. It’s not easy being cool and aloof when the prettiest man you’ve ever set eyes upon is sitting on your floor eating your biscuits. Nor can you always be expected to keep it together when a slimy celebrity psychic appears to know your name. And just when your well-ordered life couldn’t be placed under any more threat of imminent upheaval a fat random perve seems intent on taking your photograph. Yet again, just when you think you’ve got everything sorted life throws up complications and choices that need making. Choices that could just change your life forever.Connection is a book about friendship, love, desperation, madness, redemption, personal identity, what it really means to be a man or a woman and how exactly you remain true to yourself in a complicated world full of choices where nothing is certain and anything seems possible.*Connection is by Martyn Clayton, with cover art by Jan Owen (EMI & MUTE records)AVAILABLE NOW :Check out sample chapters on the blog.Or order it direct from me on the link below for just £10 including shipping anywhere in the UK :If you're overseas it's £15 on the link below : Visit my storefront to learn more

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Martyn Clayton was born at the height of Rollermania, in a shit town with a bypass. His earliest ambition was to win the UK Disco Dance Championships, sadly these were axed before he came of age. During his early years he dressed as a fairy and was generally considered to be away with them. He still is. Now as an indie author of quirky popular fiction he resides in the original (and still the best) York in northern England. Last year he introduced the world to his cool, aloof, androgynous heroine Lauren Seymour in his debut novel Take Me Out. His previous writing experience has taken in magazine and newspaper journalism, copywriting, poetry and short stories. Now concentrating increasingly on developing as a fiction writer he spends his time daydreaming, being chilled, taking photos and trying not to bother anyone in the company of his best mate/partner Rachel and his ageing eccentric terrier. He is the proud owner of several Hello Kitty badges and enjoys dancing in the kitchen to uptempo numbers of the wireless.Take Me Out @ Google BooksYou can say hello to him over on his own page: Him What Wrote Connection

Janet Louise Owen was born on the other side of the water from this year's City of Culture in the same town as Lilly Savage. She emerged feet first and 20 minutes after her twin brother showing an early inclination towards procrastination and clumsiness. At the age of 5 she received a ruler across the knuckles for drawing petals around the drawing pins on the classroom walls. She hasn't really changed much since then and still spends the majority of her time daydreaming, doodling, jotting her scribbles and putting off the tedious in favour of fun and magic spotting. You can find her rummaging through second hand book shops and jumble sales or in her flat of many colours eating snickers spread on toast and talking to her easel and her cat who looks remarkably like Garfield...he can't talk though but conveys his ideology through the medium of purring and snoring.
