We Bring Rock and Roll down to Scale

About Me

Saucer have released their latest album, entitled Dallaire. The album is named after the Canadian general who witnessed the genocide in Rwanda, and was haunted by the world's lack of reaction. The band found his story heart-breaking and compelling. Naming the album after Dallaire is a tribute, not an intentionally political statement. The photograph on the album cover represents the fragility of life; the strength and vibrancy of the music expresses the tenacity of humanism.Formed in 1995 in Waterloo, the original line-up received critical attention, winning several local contests, and playing Edgefest in 1997. The departure of their vocalist in 2000 created new challenges for the band, and propelled them to explore the complex possibilities of instrumental music. Dallaire is the convergence of these musical explorations. The band's diverse influences and musical charisma has created an innovative yet accessible album. The Toronto based trio has continued to hone their craft, becoming regular players in local music haunts. Saucer's audience of old and new fans have outgrown several of their favorite venues, with line-ups out the door and down the block. Recently, the band has introduced keyboards into the sonic menagerie at live shows and appearing on the new album. The music keeps getting better, the shows keep getting bigger. "The best instrumental rock band you've heard all week. Guaranteed."

Why are Bands thier own Worst Critics?
