M.P.G formed in January of 2005 out of the remains of the band Animal. Starting out as a jam session heavily influenced by marijuana, Eddie got the name "M.P.G" from a lyric in PLUTOCRACY's "Sniping Pigz". Since we kept forgetting every song we made we got a little more serious... just a little. Forming as a three peice with Eddie on guitar, Spencer on drums, and James on Vokills we set out to make noise. We talked our drunk friend Anthony into playing bass at the Locust show and we had our first real lineup. We played our first gig at a party in February, which was mainly smashing a radio, out of tune guitar, masked vokills?, lots of falling down, flying plastic chairs, and tons of feedback inbetween. Soon Anthony left the band due to personal matters. After a very short search Rob joined the band and learned how to play bass to our songs. Around this time we got a second vocalist Art but our memory is fogged by partying, beer, and boof clouds. Art left after a few shows cos he felt out of place. We took on yet another vocalist for our first demo, since our singer was out of town, Kevin learned all of our songs recorded 8 of em and played one show with us then split.
2006:
After having planned some upcoming releases and playing shows constantly for over a year,we began to grow tired of the same music we had been playing. At this point Eddie quits playing guitar and we brought Nick in to step up on guitar. With duel vocals and completely brand new songs the MPG "Rebirth" has begun. After quickly writing six songs and a Charles Bronson cover we head out on our first west coast tour with AxRxM. Rob couldnt go on tour so we take good friend Mikey G to fill in on bass and make noise with his fuzzbox. Thanks again Mikey you rule! We make it through all of California, but tour ends early for us. With James leaving 3/5 the band stranded in Arcata, CA. Shortly after James gets the boot. We came back home from tour wrote a grip of new songs, and then Rob decided the leave band. Good Luck Compadre. We are a three piece now!
2007:
Wrote and recorded our best material for our upcoming split with REPULSIONE on BLASTCORE. Then after a few months and five of our best shows we end up on hiatus after playing nochella. Split 7" on Blastcore out soon, grab some M.P.G History.
