About Me

I have been playing on stage since I was 15 years old and trying to play since I was five. I have traveled throughout the world playing music. I look at it more as a paid vacation to play than work. The only physical work is tearing down and setting up! The rest is about connecting and having fun.
Do to early success as a player, it took me many years to complete the more common things. Such as, finishing school, long term relationships and simply growing up. (I may never completely grow up!)
I play on an average of 10 to 15 gigs a month....I now try to find a balance between personal and professional life. Working at a local music store, and engineering/producing music out of my basement studio in Cape Girardeau has allowed me more time and money to expand my horizon and work on the more common things such as family.
All my life I have been the guy with his hand high in the air saying,"I'll take the gig." I have played many styles of music, mostly stemming from rock and roll roots, but also bluegrass, jazz, big band, funk, jam band, country, folk etc. "same 12 notes different order and time."
I recorded and played under the name "earl" for many years and have credits across the board. But now, I'm starting the completion stages of my first, very own, bass solo album. "woo who!", you say. I have such a great and vast appreciation for the talented players that surround me, I know it will at least be good because of them.
I play in a couple really good top notch bands in the area: The Mike Renick Band, and Bruce Zimmerman and the water street band. I also play with many great artist around the world: Kevin Danzig, Scooter Barnes and IoBeam to say a few. I always enjoy playing, to say the least, with different people! That is how we learn! Especially the players who feel the next note and can hear everyone speaking. The language isn't difficult! It just takes less interpretation for some people.
Please take a few minutes to listen to some of the sample tracks on my new cd. Also, feel free to search Bruce Zimmerman, Iobeam, Kevin Danzig, and The Mike Renick Band for more of my work.
