His own love for music as well as inspiration from industry pioneers such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Kid Capri, and DJ Cash Money has evolved into the accomplished career of Connecticut's own "Hometown Hero". Born and raised in Hartford, CT, Hawk's career has brought him all over the country. Even though he is known for his silky smooth transitionsin addition to his uncanny creativity, he is also emerging as a promotional wizard. The mastermind behind the infamous Classics and Bum Squad Radio mixtape series which has moved over 20,000 unit worldwide, with his Classic Reggae and Classic Mary J Blige cd's still in very high demand. DJ Hawk was also the first DJ to appear on NE Video's, Grindin in CT DVD and has been chosen to host the upcoming Summer 2007 DJ edition. Hawk was also the co- mastermind of the "I'm on my CT shit" shirts. Aside from furthering his own career, DJ Hawk has played an instrumental role in furthering the careers of other artist's as well such as Peso of Liv Ya Life Records, which was one of the first independent labels to recieve a major distribution deal with Sugar Water/Fontana/ Universal Records, Murda Mook out of Harlem, NY the Smack DVD batlle Champ, and Angelique who is an up and coming model/ R & B singer. DJ Hawk is also the dj for Messenger Records. In April 2006, DJ Hawk's hard work was recognized by DJ Latin Prince, founder of the Bum Squad DJ's and Nation Mixshow Director at Universal/ Motown Records. It earned him membership into the prestigious worldwide Bum Squad DJ's who's roster currently consists of artists, dj's, and record executives such as Grammy Winner Paul Wall, Trey Songs, Lupe Fiasco, DJ Drastic (Mims DJ), DJ Skee (Game's DJ), DJ Sir Charles Dixon (Music Choice- NYC), Sam Crespo (Atlantic Records- NYC), and Kevin Black (Warner Bros.
