BEFORE YOU LISTEN - Keep in mind all songs are done at home, without any professional input. He raps. He sings. He writes his own songs. He makes his own beats. He mixes/produces his own music. He designs his own graphics. He is a DJ. He has sex appeal, and a hefty amount of plays for an unsigned artist. This music industry is a funny world yes, but that won't stop him from trying to take it over.
Being around music with his father being a DJ, Johnny (better known as David Luckain) was born to love it. At a young age he was introduced to the turntables, and the piano. He fell in love with both, learning to scratch his favorite songs, and play them just by ear. Growing up with his Jamaican family in Brooklyn, New York was easy for him, just going to school, playing basketball, and coming home.
With his younger sister being born it wasn’t long before his family decided to move to Tampa, Florida. They didn’t want another young child raised in such an area, knowing how much more the world had to offer. This devastated Johnny. He didn’t want to leave all his family and friends that he had known for years behind. He was still too young to have a choice, and little did he know that it was what was best for his future.
Johnny and music drifted away from each other a bit, as he wasn’t around the turntables and/or piano like he was back in New York. Going to high school and living in a new neighborhood in a foreign city was hard for him, which made him begin to write poetry. It wasn’t always good poetry, and it wasn’t until the positive feedback was so strong that he began to write songs.
One day, Johnny’s father introduced him to a program called REASON, which once again rekindled his musical flame. It was basically an MPC (Beat Maker) on the computer. Johnny stayed on this for hours, making replicas of some of his favorite hip hop/r&b/reggae songs, and eventually some of his own.
Johnny gets his turntables back around this same time, and starts playing music at parties and clubs, and making cd’s at age 16. He didn’t know of anyone else doing this, which motivated him to do more. He began recording songs and not telling anyone, just for his listening pleasure.
His parents soon found out and once again the positive feedback from them and friends pushed him to take his talents further. He taught himself to use a program called PHOTOSHOP for flyers for his parties, then later for websites, logo’s, and album covers. PRO TOOLS was the next program to be learned, and from then until now he can only improve…
I appreciate those who listen to my music, give me feedback, ask me to collab (I don't charge), add my songs to their pages, etc. It shows me that I actually do have a peice in this music industry puzzle and they just haven't found it yet. People may never know how hard it is to do all this by myself, but complaining is just postponing me from getting it done so I keep quiet.

P.S.- Some people may find some of music offensive!! Don't think I mean it! I try to make music for all types of Hip hop/R&B based listeners to keep a level audience..so when my music type says "Classical" it's for a reason. He's gone. Johnny!
