About Me

Dj Btz was first introduced to electronic music by names you might not think of. Having a broad taste in music, bands like Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie, and Type O Negative were some of the earlier bands using electronic sounds that introduced him to what would later become a deep passion for electronic music and anything with a good beat. Also being heavily influenced by hip hop, the electronic sounds coming from that genre also influeneced his tastes and the love of electronicly altering sound. Other big names like The Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Keoki, Uberzone and Fatboy Slim introduced him to things more on the dance side of things. Finally finding himself in the New England dance scene in 1996 he immersed himself in the culture and the sounds. Constantly traveling all over New England and outside, hitting 2 - 5 parties a week, he knew this was his home. Early on he made friends with someone in posession of two CDJ100's and an early pioneer two channel mixer. He was constantly drawn to them and could not keep himself away. He then knew he had found his niche and continued to practice non stop on the CDJ's and turntables as well. In 1998 he decided it was time for some more adventure and moved to the west coast. Quickly he made contacts and friends and became a part of the scene on the other side of the country. There he experienced some of the countries biggest parties including Cyberfest, held a residency, and threw multiple parties and weeklies with his partners. In late 2001 he decided it was time to return home where his family was and moved back to Massachusettes. He then took a break from attending events to focus on his mixing and production. In that time he produced over 20 tracks and refined his skills as a dj. In 2004 he aquired a managers postion in a club in Worcester MA, along with a DJ residency playing 4 nights a week. After a year he decided it was time to branch out and play more venues. He left the club and started hitting the party scene and club circuit in New England to promote himself and pass out demos. Around the same time a change was brewing. He saw Uberzone live and befriended a fellow DJ in Red Echo who played breaks. After years of playing all kinds of house, he found a new passion in breaks and made the switch. He and Red Echo found that they had great chemistry and soon formed Sneaker & The Dryer. Promoting themselves constantly by giving away hundreds of cds, t-shirts, and other clothing with their brand, they rapidly made a name for themselves in and outside of New England. Compiling the busiest schedule in breaks in the area their fan base and credentials quickly grew. Their broad track selection, high energy style, and flawless mixing is hard to match. Along the way they aquired two more members to the S&D crew in A. Balls, a breaks producer, and DL a well known breaks DJ in New England who has a serious knack for scratching. After headlining all over, including Canada, DJ Btz can still be found playing alone or as Sneaker & The Dryer at a spot near you. Be sure not to miss him as his sets always pack the floor and keep 'em bouncing. With a long raod ahead, only time will tell where you might find him next.
