Porcelain Doll are a five piece, female-fronted band who play melodic metal. They are based in Brighton, and most of the band members are past and present students at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM).
The band aspire to write powerful and emotional music. Lucy’s voice has a haunting character which can be both sensitive and very powerful, meaning the music moves from delicate and soulful to dark and forceful. Their influences vary from Tool and Deftones to Evanescence and Incubus.
The lead singer, Lucy Kinsella (20), is the principal songwriter in collaboration with other band members. Lucy has HNDs in both Vocals and Songwriting, and her songs have attracted interest from record companies such as Virgin and Century Media. As well as taking vocal duties, Lucy also plays keyboards.
Tom Martin (19) plays lead guitars and has a strong interest in recording and sound mixing. He studies guitar full time at BIMM, and is taking a degree in professional musicianship, as well as already having a National Diploma in Guitar.
Ash Clark (18) plays rhythm guitars and is currently in his second year at BIMM, and is now studying Higher Diploma Guitar after completing the Diploma course last year.
JD (16) has been playing the drums since he was 9, and is currently studying a National Diploma in drums at BIMM.
The band are currently auditioning bassists, so feel free to send us a message and get in contact if you live in the Brighton area and are interested!
We are looking forward to seeing you all when we start gigging again early in 2007!
Many thanks,
-Porcelain Doll
