About Me
In general, I am not fond about writing about myself, but here goes.
I grew up in a musical family. I am proud to say that my Aunt Evelyn
was there to witness the first fender guitar to be unveiled. The first one
ever! She taught me to play as well as many others. I began shaking the maracas at 4 and started steel guitar when I was 7. I decided that by the time I was 9, I wanted to rock and roll like my brother and his friends. So, my parents bought me a Lake Placid Blue Fender Jaguar Guitar. (shoulda been a strat, but I was cool--then.) Guess that explains why I am a Fender kind of gal. My dad, mom, brother, and me formed my very first band. The 4B's. Since then I have been in many bands. Lots of country rock bands and even jazz band. What a challenge! I made it through.
My husband, Bill, has been the drummer in every band I've been in (except for the 4 B's, I wasn't married yet). He's a great drummer who learned from the best. That person being the late Bob Norris. Bless him and his influence and inspiration. Most of all I like to have fun while playing and singing with
my musician friends.
Found out I love to sing! I do my best. So I made my very first album with
8 original songs with the help of professional singer/songwriter/producer
Kevin Chalfant. I hope you like what you hear. Feedback welcome! It seems
I sing country the best. I do love rock and roll (sounds like a song) and sing
a little that I sound ok on. My favorite singers are Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Cline,
Patty Loveless, Nora Jones and Anne Murray to name a few. Some of the newer singers I admire are Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor
Swift. Of course, I have a sincere love for the guitar. I admire many guitar players. I have my favorite guitar players, all styles, Chet Atkins, Keith Urban, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Vince Gill and Wayne Underwood, (personal friend), to name a few. I must say they can shoot your socks off with the way they play. In short, I love to sing and I love to play with a whole lotta heart. In my spare time, you might see me baking ---in the sun on my jet ski, blue vino skooter, or topless (t-tops haha) in my 1986 black fully restored gorgeous Monte Carlo. You might even see me riding my girlfriend Shirley's horse, Smokey--only when I get a chance. Love and Hugs, Rhonda
