Yo whattup. DJ MEGATONE *John Aguilar* Born in San Bernardino, Ca. Hip-hop has been part of my life since i can remember, from the music, the style, the life. I was inspired by the movie Juice to become a DJ when i was about 7 years old. At the age of 16 I got my first set of decks a pair of numark belt drive turntable and a very budget mixer. I learned to mix with what i had and fell in love with djing, buying up lots of records, watching videos,.. I was Further inspired by cats like Mix Master Mike, Swamp, A-trak, and Q-bert so i definately wanted to advance my skills. So i saved money and picked up a used pair of direct drive Numarks and a vestax mixer i got down with those for a whie and began to gain confidence to pick up local house party gigs and made mix cassete tapes for friends. When i turned 18 i had saved up and bought some decent decks, practiced alot and bought even more records. I started attending foundation sessions and deejay'd a few sessions at the ontario spot. A few months after that spot ended i took up Riverside sessions where i also spun breaks and held down emcee cyphers. During that time i met DJ Adseg we had alot of the same ideas and visions for hip-hop so we linked up and spun at a few spots and clubs together along with our host Noa James. After a few sucessful events that we had together we decided to form Building Blocks Community. Where at the moment we are very active in hip-hop. we have a bi weekly spot (building blocks) and we also throw events b-boy battles, emcee battles, club events, we promote, we support...check out our events you won't be dissapointed.
