About Me

MetalAsylum.net was created with the intention to spread the good word on all that is METAL! Rich Catino is the owner of the Asylum and has been playing a major role in bringing metal back to the top for years now. I am Kevin Alba and have been writing album reviews on and off for the Asylum for the past 1-2 years. Going forward I will be a lot more active and involved in all that involves metal music. You can expect to see more album and concert reviews from me on the website. You can also count on this MySpace profile to provide you with exclusive content that may not make the website. You can count on me to bring you the latest in metal news and tour dates as well. I will constantly be updating new audio and videos for you the fans here on MySpace. One of the four videos posted at a time will be a classic metal video from the golden years. Metal is still alive and well and you can bet that here at the Asylum you will be served your daily dosage to maintain your metal health!..

HAMMERFALL - "LAST MAN STANDING"
Hammerfall in the mid to late 90's along with Blind Guardian, Nevermore, and Iced Earth played a pivotal role in putting power metal on the map and making traditional heavy metal cool once again. More than a decade later Hammerfall are one of the leaders of the pack continuing to make this special brand of metal more popular as time goes on. Having toured the world many times dropping the hammer on every audience they play for and releasing six rock solid albums Hammerfall recently released "Steel Meets Steel - Ten Years of Glory" featuring all their best plus several new tracks. "Last Man Standing" is one of those new exclusive tracks and this is it's video, enjoy!

METAL ASYLUM.NET CLASSIC VIDEO OF THE WEEK - L.A. GUNS - "ONE MORE REASON"
L.A. Guns are one of the greatest metal bands to break out of the L.A. scene of the 1980's. Always an extremely underated band, they never quite broke out the way Motley Crue and Poison did. L.A. Guns are still alive and well to this very day as they tour each and every year and continue to make new music. "One More Reason" is from their 1988 self titled debut. The sound quality is not the sharpest but it is classic none the less and by far one of the bands heaviest songs. Enjoy this weeks classic video of the week.
