Now that you're here, you might as well say hello!

About Me

I've always disliked these "about me" statements because it's really difficult to say all that there is to say. There's so much more a person than something said in a paragraph. Now, I'm not saying that I'm complex (well, I try not to be, at least)... but moreso, that I'm just a bit more dynamic than that.
But I've always considered myself to be rather open about myself, but really, your best chance of finding out about me is to message me.

Long story short, though: I'm on here to meet new and interesting people. So drop me a line!

My Interests

In no particular order, other than the first two:

My family. My friends. New and interesting people. Lenscrafters Love Music. Guitar. Maddox Movies. Making people smile. Computers and Internet (obviously). Drinking socially (Beer, Cesars, White Russains are my favs). One or two cigars a year, occasion dependent. Hugging. Yes, that's right. Hugs. I think they're great. And I give the best ones ever! Nova Scotia. Picking my nose. Stalking. Photography. Bitterness. Other things... And stuff.

These guys, too:

And beer (I know I already said it):

The Silver Lining

I'd like to meet:

Firstly, please write me before trying to add me as a friend. I can't understand how you could want to be someone's friend without getting to know them a bit first. Alas, whom I would like to meet:

Simply put, I like to meet folk who can talk as much as they can listen. And talk about a plethora of subjects ranging from movies or music to something like their families, their loves, or geeky engineering things. Basically, carry on a reasonable conversation.

I would love to meet folk in the same place as I. Would love to meet folk from the opposite side of the world. Anyone who likes to have a laugh. Kind people are always a must.

On top of all that, I guess I would just like to meet someone who can help me along the way to becoming a better person. I think I'm doing alright thus far, but I'm not foolish enough to turn down a helping hand. And I'll do my best to return the favour.

And yeah, anyone who can teach me how to play guitar better! I'm taking lessons, but I need all the help I can get! :D

Also, really, I would like to meet Jessica Biel. She's in love with me, she just doesn't know it yet. :D

And oh yeah... please write me first before you try adding me.

Music:

I have quite a few CD's with the collection growing. I'm addicted to music. It's my proverbial crack. Here's the genres, in general, that I listen to:

Hard rock (ie: Soundgarden, Rollins Band, Tool, Project 86) Heavy metal (ie: Superjoint Ritual, Mudvayne, Notihngface, Pantera) Alternative (ie: Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Wintersleep) Classic rock (ie: Rolling Stones, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, CCR) Jazz (ie: Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis) Funk (ie: Parliment, James Brown)
You're better off just asking...

(I really don't like Coldplay, though.. smashy smashy!)

Movies:

I like movies. A lot. I have several DVD's now. With the collection constantly growing. Here's the genres I tend to like:

Comedy Action Suspense Horror Sci-Fi Combinations of the aforementioned genres...
Some directors:
Michael Moore (I called him at his hotel once! Super nice man!) Christopher Guest Kevin Smith Wes Anderson Cameron Crowe Sam Raimi Robert Rodriguez Quinten Tarantino Guy Ritchie Some others...

Television:

I like TV. Here's what I own on DVD plus a couple others I can remember that I like:

Family Guy Trailer Park Boys The Awful Truth Futurama Fawlty Towers Law & Order (The Original) Lost Aqua Teen Hunger Force The Office (British Version) Arrested Development Various stuff on TLC/Discovery Others that don't come to mind right now...

Books:

Reading is for chumps!

(Okay, not really... but Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite author.)

Also working on a couple of books:
- Shaking Hands With The Devil, By L.Gen Romeo Dallaire
- The Hitchhikers Trilogy, by Douglas Adams
- The Alphabet of Manliness, by Maddox
- Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook, by Robert H. Perry and Don W. Green

Heroes:

In no particular order:

My Dad, for having a very successful 37 year run in the military and for always being strong, but never aloof. My Mom, for making her way out of poverty and having unconditional love for her children. My Sister, for being the smartest and funniest person I know and for being brave enough to experience this life and other parts of this world. All my close friends, who I won't name in fear of neglecting someone, but they are my backbone when I'm strong and my crutches when I am weak.
They're very special to me and I owe them everything...(except money!) :D

My Blog

Move me like a movie.

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 85 movies, you have no life. Mark the ones you've seen. There are 239 movies on this list. Copy this list mail, go to your own facebook account, paste this as a note. Th...

Murder, Death, Kill

For something so "light", I find it odd that country music makes me f'ing homicidal.  I hate this crap.  Well, at least this "new age" country garbage.  A little bit of JC or Willie an...
