Reality is for those who lack imagination

About Me

One of the best things about me is that I'm great at consuming oxygen and producing carbon dioxide. Well that and my supernatural ability to consume massive quantities of cheese and beer!
Ok fine, I'm a 35 36 37 year old man who has been married to my wife (who else would I be married to?) for over 10 years now. My wife and I have been going through a rough period over the last few years, so I'm trying to avoid the depressing scene of me sitting in front of my computer for hours on end writing excruciatingly bad poetry. I'd love to meet some new friends to talk to and to trade lame jokes with.

My philosophy of life is quite simple: Eat, drink, be merry, and most importantly of all...
If I'm not online much recently, it's not because I'm dead. Well I might be dead, but it's much more likely that I'm just out practicing my diplomacy skills...
Or perhaps I’m giving someone an education in safe and polite driving…
My xbox live gamer tag is CalgaryMaverick just in case you want to join me online.

My Interests

My primary interest is in living a life without pants.

My other interests include hiking, backpack camping, sailing, drinking vast quantities of alcohol while singing off key, video games, looking at the sky on a starry night, reading comics, participating in discussions on interesting topics (like life, the universe and gouda cheese), watching really bad B movies, writing just for the hell of it, and continuing work on building a shrine to Christine McGee the president of Sleep Country.

I'd like to meet:

Elvis, Scooby Doo, Christine McGee, Joseph Michael Lisner, Kevin Smith and Christopher Walken. Failing that, I'd sure love to meet a few new people who possess a rare quality known as "humor".

I'd also like to meet this guy, so he can teach me how to juggle.

Music:

I like all different types of music. A few of my favorite artists are Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Garbage, Urban Divide, Exodus, Green Day, Beck, Sarah McLachan, Fleetwood Mac, Evanesence, GNR, Dido, Linkin Park, Sheryl Crow, Nirvana, No Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, Steve Earl, Nine Inch Nails, Arrogant Worms, Jewel, Sum 41, Lenny Kravitz, Weezer, Marilyn Manson, Seether, U2, The White Stripes, Robert Plant, Captain Tractor, Three Doors Down, Gob, Tom Petty, Bif Naked, Oscar Lopez, Motley Crue, Blink 182, Velvet Revolver, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, Led Zepplin, Foo Fighters, System of a Down, Tool, Billy Talent, Panic! at the Disco and Rob Zombie/White Zombie.

Yes, I have eccentric tastes...

Movies:

A few of my favorite movies are The Crow, the LOTR series, the original Star Wars series, Office Space, Pulp Fiction, The Princess Bride, The Shining, Monty Python's The Quest for the Holy Grail, Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2, The Ring, High Fidelity, IT, Empire Records, Sleepy Hollow, True Romance, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Dead Zone (original version with Christopher Walken), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Ghost in the Shell, Shaun of the Dead, William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Team America: World Police, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien/Aliens, Gladiator, The Nightmare before Christmas, The Matrix, Space Balls, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Napoleon Dynamite, Sin City, Borat and any Kevin Smith movie (though Clerks is still the best of the bunch).

Television:

I love Greg the Bunny, Scrubs, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Family Guy and Futurama.

Yes I know. Three out of my Five favorite shows have been cancelled. Damn you FOX!!!! So now I play video games, rather than watch TV.

I recently watched a new show on the Comedy Channel called Drawn Together. This show is juvenile, tasteless and unapologetically crude...

So it goes without saying, that I absolutely love it!

But I also appreciate shows with good wholesome family values. That's why I watch the Trailer Park Boys.

Books:

I read a lot of books in the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror categories. My favorite authors are William Gibson, David Eddings, J. K. Rowling, Arthur C. Clark, J.R.R. Tolkien, Anne Rice, Douglas Adams, Stephen King, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan and Piers Anthony.

Oh and I also read comics. Yes a 35 36 37 year old can enjoy comics too. Deal with it…

Heroes:

Greg the Bunny

Christopher Walken

Shaggy and Scooby

Bruce Campbell
