About Me

| View | Add FavoriteIn October of 2003 Alan Hlavacek (Vocals/Bass) and bother, Eric Hlavacek (Drums) who had both been playing music for almost five years, started writing, and playing music together. Soon after close friend Jessica Walker (Guitar) who had been playing for almost seven years joined forces to create Lovebox. The first show Lovebox played was on January 16th of 2004 at the Pullium Building in downtown Loveland, CO. They played mostly originals but some covers such as Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains.Soon after Lovebox started recording their first demo disc on a 16trk porta-studio. They recorded 15 of our best songs but only put 13 on the disc. In the middle of recording the demo and playing a number of shows they started looking for another guitarist and came upon Travis Mason (Guitar/Vocals) a musician who has been playing guitar for four years pervious to joining the band. When Travis joined he also began singing back-up vocals for Lovebox. As a four piece Lovebox had much more diversity in the band with all the different influences from each member which eventually helped to form our sound. In May 2004, their first demo was complete. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Jessica decided to quit the band but remained a friend and loyal fan.Now Lovebox is a three piece and are stronger than ever with many more performances under their belts, one of which was a local Battle of the Bands where they won recording studio time. They used the studio time to create our most recent demo (Egodeath 2005)."We've played a ton of shows and have had a blast doing it and hopefully its something we can do for the rest of our lives." -Lovebox
