The images in my mind Haunt me Constantly As they remind me That I am glad I am who I am today, Though other may not be glad of the same. This place of no-thangs propels me to wonder why people see in such a light and others do not. It scares me a lot sometimes that people are blind - Including my self at times.No one should ever fear their own greatness, Its a gift Dont hide Let your light shine. Let it shine. Its their problem if they cant keep the thin lines of love and hate defined. When challenged to express myself will I Allow the spirit to flow through me freely? Even if I stumble my words to you, do I speak clearly? Trying desperately to give as well as receive all the messages I have to decode and unweave. I cant help nobody until I help me. As this moment comes to an end I know that coming to terms with ones greatness takes time of which there is no space in. And each night when I close my eyes, I realize No matter who, what, when or why, I Am Greatful To the MOST HIGH.

Really anything 1970s especially funk/soul and love. African music because of all the organic sounds and textures. Empress Cesaria Evora. Prince (Duh!). Michael. Goddess Nina Simone, Barbra Streisand...it's too many to name. Blessings to the Music business.

Movies:

my own f*cking movies....hahahahaha....no really though...i'm serious...anyhoo...Films that express culture, family, roots and higher consciousness with a strong message that enlightens and has something unique and creative about its style. And then the usual Blockbuster movies from yesterday and some one the ones of today. Bless the independent and up and coming Film artists. love jones, like water for chocolate, amelie, kiss, kiss-bang, bang, RAY, Love Actually, those early Sidney Poitier movies, when harry met sally, crooklyn, sex and lucia, daughters of the dust, searching for debra winger, claudine (70s), anything with don cheadle, what's up doc and anything barbra streisand, and anything julia roberts, and mississippi masala.

Television:

good times, Fame, the marilyn mccoo and billy davis,jr. Show, what's happin'...you know old 70s shows, one day at a time, the jeffersons, quincy, batman and robin, bugs bunny and tweety show. josey and the pussycats, fat albert,Get Smart, Perry mason, Electric Company, the Muppets, Chicago Hope, Thirtysomething (Angela Bassett was on that show periodically as the black advertising exec.'s wife. A year in the life - Sarah Jessica Parker and Adam Arkin. Mad about you. sex and the city - the writing/language is really good. Cosby Show and A different World, Soul Food the series, BoonDocks...and a host of others.

Books:

what looks like crazy on an ordinary day. anything by tananarive due Books that bring enlightenment and healing. Books on 'how to do...' anything concerning what will help me be successful in business.

Heroes:

all of those who came before and gave their lives for the freedom and justice of all african people.
