Since then, he has captivated Chicago audiences with his sultry vocals, driving guitar rhythms, and bittersweet balladry, drawing comparisons to Chris Isaak, Pete Yorn, and Morrissey. In April 2007, his single "The Lie" was released on Columbia Records compilation entitled "Music With A Twist: Revolutions." ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ **************** His CD received the 2005 Outmusic Award for "Best Debut Recording" and was voted one of the "Top 10 Indie CD's of 2005" by the Advocate magazine. He continues to build a grassroots following with his full-band and solo appearances around the country, opening for Shelby Lynne, Garrison Starr, Alice Peacock, Sarah Bettens (K's Choice), Jeffery Gaines, Ian Moore, Chris Stamey (dB's), and Charlotte Martin, among others. His current live project includes Dave Mendez on guitar, Rafe Bradford on bass, and Larry Brown on drums. Dylan is also a published poet, most recently included in the American Academy of Poets' "New Voices" Anthology (ed. Heather McHugh).**************************************************** ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************In July 2006, Dylan performed his original stadium-rock anthem "The Faces of Victory" for 20,000 people at the Gay Games Closing Ceremonies at Wrigley Field in Chicago, joined onstage by Styx bassist Chuck Panozzo, and backed by a chorus of Chicago LGBT rockers.
