About Me

Is asking for time to answer these questions just too much to ask?

Sometimes I wish I could stop caring, but what I really want is for there to be nothing to care about.

Check this awesome animation out, entitled Animator vs Animation:

My Interests

Trying to save the world while having fun? I'm pissed off at a lot of thing and how things (don't) "work", but can't find the proper angle to attack and implement change, which leads to cynicism. So I guess my interest is to be the best giggling cynic I can be.

I'd like to meet:

Neat folks like you

Music:

Supreme Beings of Leisure (Yum!). Morcheeba. Peter Gabriel. Pink Floyd. Aphex Twin. Beach Boys. The Beatles. Beck. Ben Harper. Bill Withers. Bleu. David Bowie. Brian Eno. Calexico. Coldplay. Cranberries. Crash Test Dummies. Daft Punk. Damien Rice. The Darkness. Dave Matthews Band. Eddie Current. Eels. Erasure. Bryan Ferry. Flaming Lips. David Garza. Gomez. Guster. Hall & Oates. Hanson. Jem. Journey. Keane. Led Zeppelin. Lenny Kravitz. Lovage. Lucky Boys Confusion. Massive Attack. Matt Butler. Moby. Moody Blues. Nick Drake. Oingo Boingo. OutKast. Portishead. Postal Service. Roy Orbison. Scott Weiland. The Shins. Shpongle. Smokey Robinson. Sonique. Spoon. Sting. Talking Heads. V.A.S.T. Weezer. White Stripes. And no, that's not all I listen to. 614 artists on my master playlist. I love music. It's my anti-drug.

Movies:

The Fifth Element... It's easily the best movie ever made, honest. I mostly love them all actually, just have a hard time justifying 2 uniterrupted hours to watch them. I've got piles and piles of unopened DVDs just waiting for me. Sad, isn't it. :/

Television:

This is my current TiVo season pass list, and I rarely get around to catching up on it either: (yeah, needs cleaning up) Anthony Bourdain, Boston Legal, The Apprentice, Cracking Up, 24, Family Guy, Mario Eats Italy, TV Funhouse, Gerhard Reinke's Wanderlust, Two and a Half Men, Frontline, Nova, Mr. Show With Bob and David, The Newsroom, Spy, Arrested Development, P.O.V., Kitchen Confidential, Everybody Hates Chris, Jacques Pépin: Fast Food My Way

Books:

I'm a non-fiction guy... I have a few hundred non-fiction works, and by comparison, under 10 fiction (none of which I can name off the top of my head). Reality feels more amazing than fiction I guess.

Heroes:

My dad. And the king of cliche.

Hair braided for the first time ever!

So I went to Itto with Mike and Mayumi was curious as to whether I cut my hair or not. I assured her that I hadn't, that it was just tied up in a tight bun, and that I would show her after dinner. L...

Paprikash

I made chicken paprikash with dumplings tonight for Mike. I've never made neither chicken paprikash nor dumplings before. He ate like 8 full bowls of it. I'm concerned for him, regardless of how de...

Lessons on cynicism from my jolly aunt

So my baby sister's wedding is this weekend, and my aunt called me to ask me to *not* be responsible for driving my grandma around (as I typically do for family events). I of course said that I enjoy...

Homeowneritis

So many opportunities to change things... So many opportunities to make mistakes... So many opportunities to spend a lot of money... So many opportunities to still not be satisfied.
