pimpmyarea.comIn 1985 and just out of college, Henry McNeil, owner of McNeil Gallery in Philadelphia offered Quigley his first show. It was not just any show, but 3 abstract paintings in the back room of Andy Warhol's "Images of a child's world" exhibit. It was one of Warhol's last exhibits before his death, in February 1987. Moving to New York in 1986 and then Los Angeles in 1990, Quigley has shown thoughout the world including Manny Silverman Gallery in Los Angeles and Ferran Cano in Spain, and currently with Germany's Arne Zimmermann Gallery, Pablos Birthday in New York."I had been very fortunate meeting dealers like Hank and Manny, Ferran Cano , and now Arne, who all had something in common, as their respect and passion for raw, uncompromising, sophisticated paintings gave me confidence and security in the work I was doing at the time, and even now. They always had challenging art on the wall, always different, always great. Rarely did I not like their taste. To find a dealer of that quality is a gift. "Although the galleries are of high interest, most of the success surrounding his work came from ambitious, unconventional avenues that has led to selling hundreds of paintings. Not having the pressure of a market or specific style has allowed him to develop a body of diverse ecclectic work that is as much about the process as it is the result.
