About Me

Julien Hendrik is a singer/songwriter and plays bass & vocals in the singer/s formation Robin Block (click on first friend below) and saxophone & vocals in the happy camping cumbia/texmex latin formation Son 5 (click on second friend below). In addition to his own songs, Julien Hendrik performs chansons by French chansonniers such as Barbara, George Brassens, Francis Cabrel and Serge Gainsbourg. On September 23rd 2006 he played at the Amsterdam tribute to Serge Gainsbourg in Paradiso, performing -among other Serge songs- an a capella version of "La Javanaise", together with Pablo Fagundez, Joy Wielkens and Annemarie Veth. In March 2008, Julien collaborated with visual artists c.q. poets Marleen van den Bergh and Renee Schouwenberg to make a performance about water, snow and ice, all three improvising on the lines between words, music and silence.
