Kalle and Richard, former singer and bassplayer of thrashmetal band
FLEGMA decide to start a new band with a more rockin´evil and gothic touch.
They seek for members and find Fredrik, previously guitarist in
FUNHOUSE, and joel on drums. They start writing songs and by November they have released their first CD, XIII. On this album Martin,
also an ex-FLEGMA member, play session guitar.
They soon find a permanent guitarist in Lukas who joins the band.
1997:
TENEBRE releases two CD-singles and are featured on a tribute to the
MISFITS along with acts like ENTOMBED, BACKYARD BABIES and the 69 EYES.
1998:
TENEBRE record and release their second fullengh album GRIM RIDE which
was given great reviews. The band are featured on a lot of compilations.
1999:
Joel the drummer is sacked. New drummer Andreas, ex-EMBRACED, joins
the band. They record and release a seven inch vinyl, Tombola voodoo
master. A gothic sideproject under the name of SAINTS IN HELL is
formed, and a CD-single ,Forever false, is released.
2000:
Lukas the guitarist is sacked and replaced with Franco Bollo, who also plays
in FUNHOUSE. TENEBRE record and release their third album MARK OV
THE BEAST, an album which got excellent reviews in magazines
everywhere
Steve Sylvester of DEATH SS appears on guest vocals on one of the tracks.
2001:
Kalle the singer quits and is replaced with Victor Fradera who also sings in DAWN OF OBLIVION.
Franco the guitarist quits, and is replaced with Peter, ex-EMBRACED.

Tenebre enters Cherryfield Studio and record their fourth album, "Electric
Hellfire Kiss". The album is so far the most succesive for the band, and
has received great rewievs worldwide. This album marks a new sound
for the band. More goth and dark rock.
2003
Members come, members go Michael Körner from Funhouse (surprise!) joins
the band Fredrik Täck quits..
2004
Tenebre are in the studio recording their fifth album. So far the basics for ten
songs has been done This album will be very different from the past releases. Even more goth...and more darkness than before
2005:
Tenebre records the new album, once again in Cherryfield studio. New
members and fresh blood has revitalized the band.
A videoclip is currently being planned, most probably for the track "Mistress Of The Dark".
On their newest and fifth CD, "Heart's Blood" , TENEBRE has definately
moved away from their metal roots and have continued their journey
into the dark realms of gothic rock, and can now be compared with acts
like The 69 Eyes, Paradise Lost and Type 0 Negative as well as the classic 80's goth bands like Fields Of The
Nephilim, The Sisters Of Mercy and The Cult.
2006
"Heart's Blood" is released in July through Candlelight in the US. New songs are written, and a recording session is planned for a dark autumn weekend.
