I live in the Twin Cities and am a proud fan of both Minneapolis and St. Paul! I love the arts in the area and try to keep up with the action around town as much as possible. I work with refugees in the Twin Cities and plan to continue advocating for social justice, whatever path that may end up being. Other than that, I love traveling, music, photography, surrounding myself with people I love, and eating as many mangos as I can get my hands on.

Once again, so many... My favorites - Pride and Prejudice, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Alchemist, Girl With a Pearl Earring. Any books about global issues, social justice, feminism. I'm currently reading Cold Mountain, Teachings on Love by Thich Nhat Hanh, the Kebra Negast, Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, No One Is Illegal

My mom! ellie smeal, Drewbie, Paul & Sheila Wellstone, Bob Marley, the many many strong women in our history who have been left out of the books, and the millions of refugees in the world persevering through today.
