Welcome to my page....Now you're my satellite!

About Me

..I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I really feel I grew up in San Jose California since I have lived here since 1981. I describe myself as a young 46 year old guy. What do I mean by young 46? You just won't find me acting or being like your typical 40 something person. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
I came to California to try to "make it" as a rock singer and did give it my best shot in a number of bands and recording projects. Take a look at these links: Atom and Elipse both courtesy of my friend and Bay Area 80's Rock scene archivist Phil Anderson. Also check out the page Johnny Bayless and I put together in tribute to the 3 bands we were in together Secrets on Fire There were other bands but I have to wait to find ways to get them together.
When I screamed my last scream on stage it was all of a sudden 1995. So after I licked my wounds from my musical let down I headed towards a career in radio in 1996. I started out as, what I called myself, the world's oldest intern at 35 but eventually I got hired and became a Promotions Coordinator/ weekend D.J. / Morning Show Producer. In the end I was able to file it down to just one job as the Producer / P.R. Manager for the Bill & Marla Morning Show at San Jose's Mix 106.5.
I loved radio almost as much as when I was trying to be a working rock singer. It was so close to the same vibe since I was being creative as the on air "sidekick" doing character voices and adding input, producing daily doses of radio bits, booking interesting and entertaining guest interviews, and scheduling live out of the studio broadcasts. The job made it possible to meet and interact with people from so many different backgrounds, famous or not, as well as being involved in the San Jose community which meant a lot to me.
That career has ended and now I am the Campbell office manager/D.J. at Sound In Motion DJ's & Video. I see this as a step forward for me because it is a growing company that is not a slave to ratings. So even though Mix 106.5 has asked me to come back on an "on call" basis, Sound in Motion has offered me a career!
I am also still very involved with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training because it has become such an important part of my life.
Personally, I just got engaged to my beautiful fiance April. I asked her to be my wife on Valentine's Day and she said "Yes!" I like living a less constricted / restricted lifestyle and thank God so does she! I'm not your typical suit and tie kinda guy. I will wear one but prefer to dress casual. I am not rich but I am not poor. You won't find me trying to climb the corporate or social ladders. *yaWN*
I love the female mind...I hope someday I'll figure it out! I love animals and babies. I go nutty when I see both so I have hope that April will make me a father someday. I love Football (Niners and Packers), Hockey (Sharks!), Baseball (Giants and Twins), Soccer S.J. Earthquakes and Basketball (Warriors) But music...Music is my number one passion in life.
I love new music and a lot of the stuff from my past, yet I am not so nostalgic that I get STUCK in the past like a lot of people I know my age. I draw the line when it comes to Country and Rap....I can't deal with those genres but like the suit and tie...My job makes me have to deal with it when I DJ.
By the way. I hated the politics involved with the "Top Whatever" So first is my amazing fiance' April who has made my life complete. The other 3 young women you see are my nieces. So don't get any ideas dudes! Finally there is my "forever crush" Elvira LOL!

My Interests

This is Lulu. She is the adult, already named, cat I saved. She has brought so much joy into my life since I adopted her in 2005.
She IS interesting. Lulu likes to talk ALOT! She likes to lick me on the face like a dog would normally do?? Never had a cat do this. She pats me on the face with her paw when she wants me to get up. She also loves to sit in my lap when I am on the computer like she is doing right now!

Music is such a passion for me which is another reason I have always been around it, fantasized about it, created it, or worked in the music industry. Besides the bands there was radio and now with Sound in Motion DJ's & Video I have said many times that music is the best life additive next to sex. My favorite bands of today...The bands of today that I love listening to daily are:

Coldplay, Interpol, Editors, Silver Sun Pickups, Muse, Bloc Party, The Killers, The Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, The Foo Fighters, The Stills, The Arcade Fire, HIM, AFI, 30 Seconds to Mars, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Snow Patrol, The Bravery, The Strokes, Dredg, The Lovemakers, Franz Ferdinand, The Sounds, She Wants Revenge, Band of Horses

Bands from back before the newbies became my newest ear candy and still get me excited are:

The Catherine Wheel, R.E.M., The Verve, Oasis, Radiohead, The Cure, U2, Dead Can Dance, Garbage, The Smiths, New Order, Depeche Mode, Dead Can Dance, Icehouse, Ultravox, The Cult, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Simple Minds, The Ramones, Alice Cooper, KISS, Twisted Sister, Angel, Van Halen, Motley Crue, WASP, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Megadeth, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Kix, Cheap Trick, The Who, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Yes, Queen, David Bowie, T-Rex, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Ted Nugent, Deep Purple, Aerosmith and almost every New Wave and Modern Rock band EVER!

Electronic music is a passion for me as well. I love:

Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, The Orb, Orbital, BT, Moby, Brian Eno, M83, Carl Craig, Spacetime Continuum, Air, Delerium, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers

Honorable individual mentions go to:

My vocal idols who influenced MY singing career: Alice Cooper (My 1st Rock Hero), Robert Plant, Ian Gillian, Paul Stanley, Steven Tyler, Steve Perry, Jon Anderson, Brad Delp, Paul & John, Frank DiMino, Robin Zander, Benjamin Orr, Steve Whitman.

Artists I just plain admire: Richard Ashcroft, Rob Dickinson, Peter Murphy, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, David Lee Roth, Dave Mustaine, Lindsay Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Debra Harry, Shirley Manson, Kate Bush, Sarah McLachlan, Enya, and Sarah Brightman

I am STILL in love with Shirley Manson!
This is the list that comes to mind...I do have other favorites that I just can't think of right now....I LOVE local and underground music too. But notice there is NO RAP and NO COUNTRY!

Heroes:

Anyone who has accomplished things in life that I have not, could not, or will not accomplish. I admire you all!
